All good stuff! But I’m from Michigan and am shocked you didn’t talk about Abdul’s race as one to watch! Going to be a nail biter and that seat is a Dem seat we need to keep in the Senate.
Right?! Or how about the one where Mike Rogers says we can’t afford to send someone who couldn’t pass a security check into DC? Seriously?? First of all not sure how he comes up with that about Abdul. Secondly - Trump’s entire cabinet should’ve failed security checks but they just don’t do them! Starting with Trump himself!!! Convicted felon! I worked for DoD (yes Dept of DEFENSE) and I’m pretty sure he’d fail the check.
Agree. They heap lie after lie on those flyers. I want to tell them that I am not worried about Abdul bringing Sharia law because Project 2025 did that! I write historical fiction and white men in the 1880s in the Great Smoky Mountains ruled with their form of Sharia law that punished wayward women by beating them to death.
I'll look for your books! Life was awful for women! The Woman They Could Not Silence was enlightening to me. And DJT would love to take us back to the time when women were property to be abused. We witnessed it at his "rally" the other day when he asked a Black woman to display her backside, which she obligingly did. This is shameful!
Abdul will win his midterm election as US Senator next Tuesday. He is a very strong candidate as I ever have seen. I am very impressed that Abdul runs his campaign very well. He has a commitment with the people. Let’s vote for Abdul!! I wish I was in Michigan as a resident and would vote for him. I lived in Michigan during my teenage years and adult years. I lived in Western PA. Let’s go, blue!!!
Adam. Can I borrow your IQ for a week or so ? Brilliant article that gets between every crack you have been enlightening us to since your fall and the Jan 6 committee -
Thanks for laying it on the line. Thanks for being you sir 🙏
I LOVE this! I am a lifetime resident of coastal South Carolina...voted for Lindsey Graham numerous times...first time when he and Mark Sanford first went to Congress. But...I did not vote for Lindsey the last time he ran and I certainly won't vote for his sister who has not one qualification to be one of our state's US Senator...a seat that seldom turns over. Remember that Strom Thurmond and Fritz Hollings held these seats for a total of 76 years. I have already voted for Annie Andrews and I am holding out hope that she will win her race. We had a Republican and a Democrat in the US Senate most of my life and we can and should do it again.
Cheryll I live here too and I voted for Andrews already. This state needs to move to purple on the way to blue (too much to ask?) People are waking up and fed up with the way things are down here. When I remind people to vote at my job (cashier) when they complain about our food prices. they say..(OH YES) I know they are disenchanted with the present stagnant status quo!
Cheryll, while I am not a lifetime resident of South Carolina, I am fairly close to it when the Air Force determined that Charleston was to my home base in 1975. I was but a teenager. I am aware of the names you gave: Thurmond, Fritz and Hollings. Once I became a resident, I voted for Lindsey and for most Republican out there. I voted for Lindsey this last time too, although with hesitancy for the first time. Within months I regretted that decision and felt like a fool. Prior to his passing, however, I knew then that I wasn't going to do that again. His sister doesn't make it any easier or harder. I am done with them all. I will be voting for Annie Andrews.
Thanks for the races to watch Adam. I hope it’s an earthquake so we can stop the madness of Trump and his administration. My wife and I have already voted and many of our friends and neighbors have done the same. Time for change and a bright new day.
The whole thing depends on turnout. If Democrats get to the polls in massive numbers, it becomes not just a potential change at the helm,it is too big to rig. And that’s what it has gotta be, to avoid January 6th 2.0…let’s do this!
The only person really nervous about the election is the criminal President. It is his nervousness that makes us all nervous. Is he going to bomb California? Run off to Quatar?
The Republicans have latched onto him for the money and the power. Really greedy people have trouble with those things and are not likely to give them up once they have them.
I don't care if Trump suffers Spontaneous Human Combustion. I just don't want his fallout to fall on me or any of the rest of the decent American people. That is what we have to fear, and FDR was right. All we have to fear is fear itself.
This is great Adam. Thank you for the insights here. This election has really been a ride. This all has never been so important as it is right now. Everyone vote. Get out there and remind everyone to do their civic duty. Let's do this. We can because we are Americans and can do anything we put our minds to.
We've begun using our mute button on the TV remote over the past week or so. During the day, we listen to music all day to sooth our nerves. But, at night, during the 2 hours that we actually watch any TV, the mute button is very convenient for shutting out the noise of those ads. We need to be sure, once we win this election, that the rules get changed so that no candidate is permitted ever again to put out any negative ads against their opposition. Enough of this filthy, disgusting habit.
I also use the mute button often, Nancy. Not only for the ads but anytime a clip showing the orange man-baby speaking, he gets muted. I am not giving precious minutes of my time to listen to his voice. I will listen to others recapping the idiocy of his words.
Well I voted early Monday. I wanted to vote on Election Day then decided I wanted to ensure my vote was counted! Just needed to do it for my mental health. Living in Indiana I don’t have much hope for anything blue. I’m trying to keep my hopes tempered as my heart broke when Hillary lost, Kamala lost & then tRump won, again. Too much media was saying Dems would win & woke up to no we didn’t!
Deep breath. Thanks for the “meditative” calming letter today.
I can empathize with you, Karen. I too live in really, really red Indiana. My husband and I have often emailed and called our district’s representative and our senator which doesn’t do anything. Either no response or a generic answer touting how good they are for Hoosiers. I’m 75 and hold no hope this state will be anything but red.
All good stuff! But I’m from Michigan and am shocked you didn’t talk about Abdul’s race as one to watch! Going to be a nail biter and that seat is a Dem seat we need to keep in the Senate.
Same here, from Saugatuck and praying that Abdul wins. I am so tired of folks sending me flyers saying he is dangerous

Dangerous resides in the White House.

Agree Tracy. I gave to Abdul’s campaign the first time I heard him speak. I live in Indiana.

Good comment. But Adam DEFINITELY did not fall. He rose above the noise and the nonsense, and thank goodness he did!

I was in labor with our first son 51 years ago today! Let's hope the outcome is as beautiful as he is!! 🗳 For America 🇺🇸 💙
Great article. Thanks for the humor and the guidance.
🤞🤞🤞nervous is understatement!
Best news and insight anywhere.
