This bastard was always a stupid, vicious, cruel sociopath. Now he's a stupid, vicious, cruel sociopath totally lost to dementia. All the filters and child-minders have left the building.

Vote early. Take 5 people with you. Do not stand for this awful chickenshitted insanity a day longer than you have to.

On the first day of early voting, I was at Town Hall before it opened. All blue no matter who.

He’s a sociopath with all the power in the world.

I think as good portion of the country has gotten used to it. The mainstream media has done their best to make that happen. Thank you for reminding us WE do not have to.

Skepticat's avatar

It seems to be the bad portion that has gotten used to and encouraged it; I'm grateful we haven't.

I want the Presidents I have seen in my lifetime! Even Nixon! This "Presidency" is beyond destructive!! I remember someone wrote years ago, The Presidents job is to uplift and give hope to the country. I want that President again!! This America 🇺🇸 breaks my heart!

Joan Bailey's avatar

Yes, and what ever happened to the mantra all presidents have lived by after elected (until now, that is) he (hoping someday a she !) is the president of ALL Americans regardless of political affiliation? That norm is long gone.

When I see old newsreels of past presidents, I’m always stunned at the reminder of what a real leader is. I was no fan of Reagan, but watching him give a speech after a tragedy, he was compassionate and inclusive and certainly didn’t make it about himself. I also wasn’t a fan of Nancy Reagan, but she did the First Lady thing and did it well. We had leadership, not a bunch of self-serving cruel carnies at the helm.

Thank you, Adam. This is a helpful reminder how much we have lost.

The Rs in the Senate and Congress know this is not normal, and just downright awful. Yet, they do nothing other than possibly grumble behind closed doors. Shame on them.

I feel badly for this young man’s family and quite frankly, the rest of the world.

No please DON’T get used to this corrupt administration and his lies. He’s beyond repair now we are paying for his lies. We MUST fight against this corrupt government. Our only chance to save our democracy is by voting against this corrupt regime. We know it you know it and the Whole World knows it

I am still blown away when something like this happens. Working with a mixed population of nero divergent and general ed for years taught me many things. Including having compassion and understanding for all individuals. I find me self saying "How dare you trump!" over and over. Really,

How dare you😡

Joan Bailey's avatar

And to add to that, Candace, I keep saying to myself and occasionally my husband, how dare you think I’m so stupid to think that you, orange man-baby, ever tell the truth about anything, EVER. Quit insulting my intelligence.

I’m holding onto hope that our next president will be one with integrity, compassion, humility, etc. A president who is a true leader and doesn’t bully or belittle our allies. A president who is honest and trustworthy, who will admit when wrong. Our country deserves better. We’re exhausted…

It’s up to us to make it happen. We need to work hard

He is insane. He is a traitor. And he needs to be held accountable for his reign of terror. VOTE!

Thank you Adam. In psychology, there is a diagnosis called situational depression for depression that is related to major stressors like losing a job or divorcing, or the loss of a loved one. I feel like we've all been trapped in a lengthy bout of situational depression, because we cannot accept this, and we cannot move on. Thank you for reminding us that what we feel every day is a normal response to an abnormal situation.

Jude's avatar

Very insightful. Thank you. Yes, we are in a collective situational depression.

Reading this brings back to mind an image that I have never been able to shake – Ronald and Nancy, Reagan hugging and comforting the families of the Locherbiebombing. I still remember reading that with tears in my eyes, marveling at the strength and grace that must’ve taken. More proof of what an abomination this man is trying to turn this country into, but it will not happen. I firmly believe that.

Jolie Elder's avatar

I remember someone writing about President Obama sitting down individually with each of the Sandy Hook families. Like President Reagan, both were leaders who could empathize with those in grief and summon the grace to comfort them in whatever small way was possible.

Ellen Snyder's avatar

Yes Jolie, that was my home state and he definitely did that. A hero of a man!

To make my small statement that Trump's actions are not the norm, are not acceptable, within the hour, I am heading to my early voting place here in Savannah. My wife went yesterday. Sens.Ossoff and Slotkin are coming to Savannah next week to canvas and I am considering joining them.

Sounds wonderful‼️‼️‼️

It's devolved to the point where I ALMOST (in caps for a reason) forgive the Sociopath in Chief his lunacy under the assumption that he may actually now be too crazy to be held responsible for his own behavior. It's the people around him and the Republican congress that let the madness go on unchecked for whom there can be no such leeway.

Carol S Huggins's avatar

Ms Harp has worked for a television news dept in charge of Russian disinformation there. For many months she is with the president hearing top secret information and has refused to submit to Security clearance many times. The presidents infatuation with her is alarming to me. His consistent sympathy for Russia may be due to his physical and emotional closeness to Ms Harp. This could result in needless calamity for my country.
