College towns in America are as necessary to our future as ripening crops in our farm fields. But we must remember that 80% of American adults see the shameless self serving politicians who use their office of public trust for their personal gain. Only 20% are hard core fooled. And at least 99% of Americans are courteous and law abiding and respectful of their neighbors. While pundits on TV spew hate and snark. They don't have the courage to tell the truth. The disconnect is startling.

In 2024 Trump got 30% of the American adults to vote tor him. About the same as 2016 and 2020. Harris got 29%+. 40% of American adults DID NOT VOTE!
This November all Trump and Musk need to do to win is to suppress voters from voting. Restricting who gets a ballot is easier than rigging the count. Trump's 25% to 30% will show up. That's all he needs to keep power over the 70% who knows he's a crook.

About college towns and Kansas…Yes, Lawrence is a college town, a beautiful one at that. I grew up in another college town in Kansas, Emporia, back when Kansas was the friendliest place you could find. The politics have changed in Kansas since then, so reading this brought tears to my eyes, hearing what beautiful hospitality was offered to the Algerian team in a state that was once as hospitable as they come.
I live in Austin, tx. We used to be a college town back in the 1970’s and 1980’s. I attended the University of Texas from 1973-1977. It was a great place to live. Unfortunately, greg abbott and ken paxton has magafied this state which includes the universities. UT is no longer the progressive university I loved. It is really pathetic.
I grew up in Emporia, Kansas which is south and west of Lawrence by about 70 miles on the Kansas Turnpike! I am very proud that Lawrence showed the true Kansas and USA spirit rather than some UFC baloney that used 60 million of our tax dollars to throw the worst POtuS a birthday party this evening at the White House!!!

When we open our communities to other people, cultures, religions, etc., we learn SO much. We find so much in common. Our politicians try so hard to tear us apart.
