After Doge stole our information - and at least my state willingly handed over my information to the government - you would think that they already have what they need. I’m not against showing an id (as long as everyone can get one for free if it is a requirement) but it goes too far in asking for “citizenship” proof. That is looking for a solution to a problem that doesn’t really exist. It’s not just about keeping non-citizens from voting but also people (women, adoptees and others) who changed their names and the people who can’t afford, find or get their documents together to jump through hoops. I just read, watch, listen. Podcasts are on YouTube. Meidas Touch is good, but their vidcasts (I am coining that word…you heard it here first!) are quite long. I also get tired of their hyperbolic headlines; but to be fair Aaron kinda has those, too. Just not as bad. But they say that’s what you have to do to get eyes.
Aaron is so amazing. He gets a LOT of stuff before anyone else does. Then I see it reported by other folks later, even Adam! 😬.
You can watch YT on your TV, they have CC for almost everything that’s on there and I know that’s important to you. Sometimes I just play the podcasts and listen to them while I’m doing other things around the house.
Here’s some great folks to tune into and most all of them have video shorts as well, so you can watch snippets of things. Okay…(in no specific order)
@ohhthatsrich — brilliant dude, he does these walk and talks and they’re no longer than a few minutes, but he also has a regular podcast. His delivery is magic.
The Weekly Show with Jon Stewart — his podcast. He always has the best guests on. Because, I mean…who doesn’t love Jon? His interview with Mamdani a couple of weeks ago was terrific.
Heather Cox Richardson — Substack, FB, YT. Surely you follow her(??). If you don’t you will love her. She is a voice of reason, calm and FACTS in this insane storm we are in. She writes a letter every day and does live Politics Chats on Tues. & Thurs. @ 6:00p EST.
She also has different vidcasts with an array of brilliant minds. And she appears in many others as a guest. I would LOVE for she and Adam to do a sit down together.
Scott Galloway — The Professor G podcast. He has really good conversations with a variety of guests
Timothy Snyder — (author of “On Tyranny” published in 2017). Just a brilliant, incisive man.
Harry Litman — Talking Feds
Jim Acosta — left CNN after Rump got reelected b/c they moved his show to 12:00am…he knew the writing was on the wall. He quit live on air. 👏🏼👏🏼
Katie Couric — does great interviews with a myriad of intelligent folks. She had Scott Pelley on right after he was fired from 60 Minutes. Fantastic interview.
Kara Swisher — she’s so funny and sardonic. Love her.
Wait, there's more! Katie Phang, Oligarch Watch and BIG by Matt Stoller!! Katie sued Todd Blanche to release the Epstein files that he was SUPPOSED to and the judge is coming back at him.
Matt Stoller is all about monopolies, corruption, billionaires and how they control damn near everything. He wrote a book called “Goliath: The Hundred Year War Between Monopoly Power and Democracy.”
And Oligarch Watch I just know from Substack. Katie is on YT as well. Idk about the other two (Matt maybe is).

All of these folks are on YT and some are on Substack. Sometimes they are guests on each other’s shows, or they themselves are guests all over the place.
YT (and Substack) is where I have found so many interesting people, ideas, and discussions — not just on the political stuff, all kinds of things! And of course I just watch cat or babies being cute videos to give myself a break and some joy and a smile.

I do subscribe to HCR, God love that woman. Always so calm, sensible, grounded in facts. I've seen and much enjoyed her interviews with Jon Stewart (brilliant man, love him. I'd love to see him interview Adam, who also has such a great sense of humor that he'd roll with whatever lines Jon were to throw at him).
And Aaron, of course, and yes, I think his headlines are often over-the-top, kind of annoying, but forgivable, given all the good info he shares so quickly. I've also noticed that he's often ahead of Adam by a day or two :-) , but I still really appreciate Adam's analyses and sense of humor regarding those same stories. Adam has a knack for making things make sense.

Mr. Kinzinger has my high admiration because he refused to remain in a party transformed into a fascist one. In my view, anyone in Congress identifying as Republican can only be considered fascist. If the party formally changed its name to the Fascist Party, how many would remain in it? Actual conduct is more critical than labels; the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea is not democratic. The actions of Trump are unquestionably fascist, and accordingly, those in Congress who identify as Republican and vote in lockstep for Trump's policies, cannot be deemed other than fascist. Voting for any of them, is to support fascism. Those who support fascism are, by definition, fascists. Blunt? Harsh? TRUE.

Trump knows that if Republican opposition (the Democrats) regain power in Congress, he will be impeached and prosecuted. The Republicans now in charge are too cowardly and venal to do it. This is why we must check our own voter registration, and that of others we know, then work to get everyone legally registered to vote. Then turn it out, voting against Republicans in national, state, and local elections. This truly will be our last chance, Americans. If Republicans regain control, expect Trump's Gestapo to activate and its opposition to come out in force. There are simply too many guns in the USA to conceive of a peaceful outcome if we do not deny the right at least one chamber of Congress.
