Giving people $5k if republicans win??!! It’s our tax dollars. He’s such a loser, pathetic and more!!! 😝

Janet Wagner's avatar

It's an outright bribe for votes. Disgusting.

Gary Walters's avatar

It would only be a bribe if he actually paid up, and that isn't every going to happen. It clearly is an attempted bribe, but like all he says it is nothing but bullshit and they money if it showed up would probably be less useful than Monopoly money.

Ellen Snyder's avatar

he knows that the GOP is going to lose and he knows that his "bribe" will never be paid. He will say afterwards that "not enough of you losers voted for me so you don't get the money!"

G Rino's avatar

Tack on the tariff rebates he promised. Keep the chaos coming, so we forget the promises and Epstein.

FOR TRUMP, AND MANY REPUBLICANS, E[STEIN IS LIKE A BAD STD, "THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING".

IT AIN'T GONNA GO AWAY.

Don't forget out DOGE dividends!

Jerow Scheel's avatar

They've been promising checks (our own money like you said) every day for years. Most people with an ounce of sense have caught on it's the same old tired hit lies.

Sally S's avatar

If rump gave away $45k like he gave his female aides this week he might get a few more votes. 😂

Jerow Scheel's avatar

True, but there's no amount of money that could ever make me do what they do with or for him🤢🤮

Judy Steiner's avatar

He wouldn't follow through. Plus, it's a bribe.

Sally S's avatar

You think?! He’s a pathetic liar

Kari Gunderson's avatar

Amazing that the tRUMP empire is releasing $5k to everyone to vote for the failing republican party. /S/ Nope, it's our tax money. I'll take it and donate all to more worthy causes in the NGO world like stopping the sale of OUR public lands so the Tech Bros. can build their data centers and drain our aquifers, destroy productive farm land, raise our utility rates, and leave eye sores scattered across the US. And I won't be voting for a single republican.

Ha! Americans are still waiting on our Doge checks. He's such a incompetent, disgraceful liar.

Now the demented old POS is trying to buy the election using taxpayer money. Who believes he could stoop any lower. Put this old fool out of his misery

Put him out of his and our misery 🤪🤪

I had an interesting observation yesterday. My hubby and I went to a store to buy a gift for our niece. In a strip store area that usually has a very full parking lot, there was barely a car in the lot! One end of the lot, where there are a few restaurants, there were the usual number of cars. At the other end, where there is a home improvement store, there were lots of cars. But, for the store we were shopping in and the rest of the strip, a small scattering of cars in the lot and very few customers browsing through the aisles. As to our current economy, I think this says it all. What is so sad is that all of this has been caused by ONE ugly, demented, lying, twice convicted felon (not all the illegal stuff is completed yet), psychopatic idiot who thinks he's more important than any other human on earth. Let's make sure we show him just how wrong he is!!!

a fight against communism??? it's a fight against trump and for Democracy

EUWDTB's avatar

It's a fight against a neofascist GOP. One single (and weak) man cannot possibly destroy a two-decades old democracy.

Read Project 2025. This is the GOP's doing, Trump is merely their clown in chief, there to distract us 24/7.

I can rename things too, so I will echo your thought that lying President Epstein’s circus appearance in Dallas will not save the midterms for the Republican agenda. GOTV and make him a lame duck for two years.

Appreciated this article! And thank you for signing on to endorse Talrico for Senate along with 19 other notable Republicans.

My guess is that Trump will be remembered, but not kindly. He will likely manage to be impeached at least once more and the monuments he is trying to build to himself will be stripped of his name. Very few of his EOs will remain intact and rather than relying upon executive action going forward, congress will pass laws to protect government from such adventurism in the future. Any number of these laws, passed in an effort to rebuild the institutions he has torn up, are likely to be named something like "The Donald J. Trump Repudiation and Reconstruction Act". A deserving and durable recognition of his self-serving "public service".

You have to pay $25,000 of your own campaign money to go...Someone else is always footing the bill for these Republicans. Saying you will get $5000 if you vote Republican and they win, that seems to be pretty illegal to me...like a bribe. Thank you Adam, thank you for being in the fight.

"House Speaker Mike Johnson gave away the real message when he described this fall’s elections as “a competition against communism,” a line meant to animate otherwise disheartened GOP voters."

Neofascism is the logical endpoint of neoliberalism (even the founders of neoliberalism ended up admitting that "capitalism and democracy are incompatible). From the very beginning, neoliberalism was created to destroy the New Deal, BECAUSE they feared that it was a form of communism.

As long as the USSR existed, the concept of "communism" could be associated with "fascism" in the sense that the USSR was a brutal totalitarian regime. But anyone who read Marx knows that that was never the original meaning of the word. Similarly, neoliberals weren't truly afraid of fascism, they were afraid of democracy and its ability to empower the 99% to adopt measures that would limit the freedom of the 1%. THAT, in their minds, was enough to fear the New Deal and then use the word "communism" to make sure everyone became afraid of it.

Later, "communism" and "socialism" became labels disconnected from their real meaning and used to describe any democratic attempt to use the government to benefit the 99%. The idea behind neoliberalism/neofascism is always the same: the most important political value is letting the wealthiest do whatever they want, not just in their private lives but also for the country as a whole. To hide that fact, the GOP calls anything else "communism" or "socialism", knowing full well that they're lying.

Also, if the GOP still believed in real competition, why are they constantly trying to gerrymander mid-decade, use the USPS to throw out non-GOP voters, and rig elections in countless other ways? Fact is, even that was a lie.

Maybe I'm just fearful, but this feels like the last few months before November 2016, when people thought Trump was a joke and would never be elected president. It's also reminiscent of 2024, when Trump was spewing hatred and divisiveness, talking about Haitians eating pets, and making wild promises. One thing we can't do is disregard his influence or count the GOP "down and out." Can economic stress overcome racism and other social divisions in our country? Will Americans unite and vote against Republicans in 2026? If the past is precedent, many of us could be severely disappointed again, but I sincerely hope not...

Trump has clearly lost his mind and anybody that doesn’t recognize that has lost theirs too.

Phgladko's avatar

Americans will receive a $5,000 check as a reward if the GOP retakes control of the House and Senate in the midterms.

So, paying for votes because he knows he's going to lose the house and possibly the senate. Oh wait, he doesn't intend to pay anybody so it's just his normal promise them anything, give them nothing. Where's our DOGE checks, where are our tariff rebate checks? He already owes us about $3600 each. How convenient that the money wouldn't be paid until AFTER the election. Remember, he doesn't care about you, he only wants your vote to keep his fat ass out of prison.
