I am an American doctor. A national physician medical organization trolled me yesterday and said we are on the precipice of Communism in America.
They think that affordable healthcare in America is Communist. I consider it expressing Christian values.
Go right ahead, Americans, and vote for decency over fear.

blame the congressmen and the Supreme Court justices that are letting him trash our country. Shame on every one of you that voted for anything he wanted. Bravo to you that now stand up to him, hope it’s not too late. He’s a billionaire now and maybe you have a few more dollars too, but our country is hurting. The people are hurting. This isn’t the America I grew up in and I hate what’s happening while people who can help sit on their hands because “daddy” might ground you.
I also blame the American people who vote for Trump and vote for republicans who support and even emulate Trump. I blame the Americans who some I’ve come to realize are bigoted, racist and small minded, getting their information from and being influenced by Fox News. Despite all that Trump and the GOP have done, 33% of Americans are still unwavering in their support for them. I also blame Democrats and Independents who avoid political discussions with family and friends because they don’t want to rock the boat. But what better way to help family and friends get information and ideas than from a family member or friend? The polls show 33% support for Trump but it seems like the number is higher. Sigh…..
During WW2 my father was part of an elite Canadian-American unit called the First Special Service Force (aka The Devil's Brigade), the predecessor to our modern day Special Forces. They received the Congressional Gold Medal in 2015. You were my representative in Congress and I was able to meet you and your staff in Washington DC and they showed me around the capitol building. I thank you so much for that as well as your service to our country as a member of our military and Congress. And thank you for standing up and speaking out against authoritarian rule. It is a shame what the evil dictator has done to ruin our partnerships with our allies.

I am just one person, and I cannot stop what this man is doing to our country! I never once voted for him, and I can say without a doubt he is the absolute worse president in America's history! Even President Nixon had the decency to resign before things got any worse. I am so sad that we are losing our allies because of this corrupt regime and there is absolutely nothing being done! No one is putting a stop to it! I work hard every day writing letters, signing petitions, making phone calls and doing everything I can to get people out to vote in November. I truly do not know what else I can do! I attend every No Kings protest in my area. It is very hard watching an old man clearly showing signs of dementia or Alzheimers destroying the country that I love so much. My fondest hope right now is that we will win the Senate and the House in November so that we can begin repairing everything he has destroyed.
I am with you-desperate in despair as I watch the MAGA massacre of the America I love. How many of us are feeling alone, playing by the rules and doing our civic duty. I saw hope in Minnesota as neighbors joined to withstand the brutal ICE assault-and in Illinois & other targeted communities, but the brutality continues behind detention walls. Thank God and the universe for Mark Carney & our neighbors to the north AND the patriots like Adam & others that have spoken out and gathered a following. These are times that test the true strength of our democracy. We must persevere.
On June 6, 1944, the Canadians on Juno Beach shared in our sacrifices to begin the liberation of Europe from the tyranny of Nazi Germany. They fought valiantly throughout the rest of the war. On September 11, 2001, the Canadians in Gander, Newfoundland opened their hearts and homes to hundreds of passengers whose flights were redirected there in the wake of 9/11. I recently visited British Columbia. They are our friends. Donald Trump has treated them like dirt. It will take a lot of effort by the next administration to repair what he has done.

Trump wants Canada as the 51st state, but I would rather we became Canada's 11th province. Functioning Democracy. Universal Healthcare. Politeness. What's not to like? Obviously, I'm not serious, but it is indisputable that Canada has replaced the U.S. as the bulwark of democracy in North America.
Adam, this is what I worry about the most. It will be much easier for us internally to recover from the disaster of our current regime, but how can we convince our allies--or former allies--to trust us again? I'm glad Canada and the EU are moving forward but they're doing so without us, and that frightens me. I'm in my early seventies and it's a sobering thought to realize I might not live to see our international relationships eventually restored, if they even can be. I, too, wonder how we can endure the evils of the Trump administration for another two years. Who'd have thought an elected American president could damage us so much in the eyes of the world? I hope, when and if the time comes, our erstwhile allies will realize that a huge portion of our country never supported the slob who is trying to destroy us. How will we ever get them to accept us again?
What we have lost will not easily be recovered. Let’s not forget we’ve have 2+ years left to further erode more institutions and longstanding relationships.
Thanks for showing us what true love of country means. Until we look in the mirror and come to grips with what we have become we will continue to view ourselves as we used to be, but what the world knows we no longer are. The truth is painful — we are being strangled by self-inflicted grift and corruption and are destroying a world that we created and that has benefited us greatly over the past 80 years. Unless we wake up and recognize the problem this downward trend will continue.

The Trump regime can't be over soon enough! Hopefully our allies will come back but it will take time and effort to make it happen.
