Thank you for helping us remember that each person lost is not a statistic, but a person who had a right to live a full life.

“Every time the United States uses military power, young Americans carry the weight of that decision.”

Beautiful tribute. It breaks my heart especially since it’s all so unnecessary.

I am the mother of a Marine pilot, and whenever they are deployed to

a war zone everyday you pray that the uniformed soldiers do not show

up at your door.

Thank you for voicing the pain and pride that these families are experiencing right now.

Thank you for honoring them, and also using your unique , valuable insight, into what this sacrifice means. May God be with their families and loved ones, and fellow soldiers... We may be not in support of this war but we can always stand up for our military and our vets..It hurts my heart what they have and may bbe asked to do...and knowing also, how vets are being shortchanged as it is. My fervent prayers for all our military and their families..

Adam my husband and I watched "The Last Republican" last night. We are from northern IL and so your story hits just a bit harder . It was extremely moving,, even though I had watched the Jan 6 hearings.. The courage and honor that both you and Sophia exemplified then and continue to do so,,.. It reminds me of the question of something like : when history calls, what will your answer be? Clearly , you did not foresee the wisconsin stabbing you came upon and your life saving intervention ..and clearly you did not foresee your career path going on the journey it has taken! But you have led with integrity and honor despite the danger and peril.,.. I dont care what anyones politics are...our democracy is at stake! Please continue to do the work you are doing and to "tight the good fight"! Your voice and actions were needed then, from your time in the military, to the lifesaving confrontation of the stabbing offender in Wisconsin, to being a Congressman and most of all, speaking out on jan 6 and onward.. You are a huge inspiration !PS we enjoyed seeing the more personal aspects too of the video, of seeing your folks, seeing the arrival of Christian,.. Please know how much you and Sophia are appreciated!

thank you for this article - I looked up Indiana Captain Seth Kovar, and of course he was a graduate of Purdue (my son is an undergraduate there now). Our best and brightest being sent over to a war we should not be fighting. :(
