Are there any repercussions for the president when all he does is spend spend spend? Painting the reflecting pool, the arch, the ballroom and any of the other million projects he’s starting are costing a lot of money. Money we don’t have does he not have to go to Congress and get permission for any of that? And if he does, why aren’t they doing something about it and opposing him just so frustrating thank you.
I just rewatched The Last Republican for the third time. I was an air traffic controller at Vance many years before your time as a student. Although I never got used to the flat earth in Oklahoma, I grew to love the state. What did you take away from your time there?
When (if) we finally have a fairly normal administration in charge, do you think it will be possible that some or any of the people unjustly fired will offered their former jobs—if they’re even willing to return? Is there also a chance that international organizations from which he has withdrawn the U.S. would be willing to reinstate the U.S., though obviously not in a favored position?
Who knows what other crazy illegal shit Trump et al will try to pull to avoid a Democratic takeover of the House (and maybe the Senate). Who is gaming this out and what are the tactics being considered to deal with what he'll try to do?
Right, I'm really worried about this! With the Supreme Court decision throwing out key parts of the Voting Rights Act, Louisiana canceling its primary and other states reconsidering their voting maps, it is looking like a mess. I'm also concerned that if the Iran War drags on, Trump will try to cancel the midterms entirely, claiming national security like he does with everything he wants to do.
Why don't I read about any effort to recruit a few GOP Congressmen/women to switch parties? With a super-thin majority, it seems within reach. Self interest alone would dictate that representatives from competitive districts will have a better chance of keeping their jobs as Democrats. They'd be heroes, and could bring an end to our national suffering.
Miles Taylor wrote an excellent article on defiance.news a few weeks ago addressing exactly that issue. He said they wouldn't even have to switch parties, they could just decide to "caucus with" Dems, and that we only need 3 to do the trick. he even suggested the most likely candidates. I think the only effort on such a thing would have to be grassroots, which would mean figuring out how to motivate the conservative constituents of this handful of potential heroes to make a whole lot of noise. I've been grappling with how such a thing could be made manifest, ever since I read that article. looking forward to hearing Adam's response on this one!
If it were that easy, several would have done it by now. For starters, caucusing with Dems means the GOP would pull all support from their campaign and Trump would endorse a primary opponent. Of course, they could do a lot of good until being ousted.
What are the chances of removing the pedofelon and his minions for treason? Seems obvious that Putin helping Iran and Trump kowtowing to Putin fits the definition
How do we convince the Democrats that they absolutely have to develop a platform that is specific to the needs and wants of the American public? They have to understand that they CANNOT run an Anti-Trump campaign and expect to win purple, and God-forbid, a red district! I'm already seeing this exact "strategy" in some of the primaries. The American voter needs to see what they plan to do with specifics in how they will try to carry the promise out. For example, "I will lower taxes!" Now I want to know HOW you are going to do that. I am a life-long Democrat, but I will vote for the candidate that has a solid plan, even if the plan may not work exactly as designed. How do we get these Democrats to understand that???
I live in GA and I see these exact same ads from Repubs "I will lower your property taxes". "I will cut your income taxes in half". Really, HOW?
I think the MAGAts are so used to being lied to that they don't even think that far ahead. They're very much of the "well if he said it, it must be true" idiocracy.
Likely they're directing those ads (lowering taxes) to the upper middle class and the wealthy. Lowering property taxes is NOT such a priority for the poor, very many of whom are renters -- and that class divide is an ever-widening chasm. What the majority of us in this country (made up of the poor to lower middle class [to middle class, which is now a fairly small group]) want to hear is how they will raise INCOME taxes on the wealthiest citizens and implement a plan to actually collect them.
When a person leaves Congress, what benefits does he/she receive?
I ask because I hope it’s not a lifetime pension and/or free medical/dental insurance because a lot them, in my opinion, don’t deserve it…and I’m not talking just one political party!
And is there a difference if they retire from Congress vs. just leave?
Thanks…and thanks for all u do to help keep us sane!
He addressed this last year when MTG was leaving. She held out until she was 5 years in so she would get some retirement. So it is somewhat based on your tenure.
yes please Adam, please run for something! we need more honest voices in gov, & especially ones who appeal to former Republicans & recovering magats! please & thank you 🙏🏻❤️🔥🇺🇸‼️
I agree. Adam, you're the perfect person to pull everyone together, left and right. You're smart knowledgeable and honest. Most important you have strong integrity.
And the backbone to act on that integrity. We need that -- and we need it across the board from everyone who are supposed to be serving their constituents, the MAJORITY of whom now are NOT pro-tRUMP. Fewer gutless & nutless, oh please please.
I've heard some leaders in voting rights and litigation say that, since the VRA has been gutted, red-state redistricting could keep Democrats from controlling the House "for a generation." The media seems to be saying very little about this. Are fears overblown? What about for this year's mid-terms? The red states are desperately doing last-minute redistricting as we speak.
How do we restore the voting rights that the Supreme Court gutted while also getting away from the tit-for-tat gerrymandering that has ramped up because of the ruling? These actions, on both sides, are only causing the rift in this country to grow deeper and wider.
Yes! Remember when he said Covid was going to be gone by Easter of 2020? Based on our experience then, it seems fair to assume that oil prices won’t return to prewar levels for at least a year. (For context, here’s a nice timeline of all the times Trump said Covid was going “to go away.” https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2020/10/politics/covid-disappearing-trump-comment-tracker/ )
Of the remaining experienced generals in this administration, do you believe Trump will heed their advice to end this war, or will Hegseth and Netanyahu be the only two influencers he will respond to since the volatile situation in Iran and gas prices everywhere are continuing to escalate?
The entirety of the government's actions over the past year and a half feels like somebody just flushed the toilet and the country is spiraling toward the sewer. Where is the hope?
Do you believe that drümpf will illegally send military and/or 🧊 to polls, either to intimidate voters or seize ballots? if they do: how do we stop them without having blue govs call up National Guard, which seems a recipe for protestors caught in cross fire? alternately: do you believe that military would disobey that particular illegal order? if so what would be the process by which that might happen?
yes, exactly, that's what I mean. i keep hearing that if 🧊 or military are sent to polls in blue states, govs could call up National Guard in response. But imho that just sounds like an invite to Civil War. i rewrote my question above to clarify, thanks for revealing the confusion 🙏🏻

THANK YOU. Excellent questions -- I'd like to know the answers to these as well.
Will this country get to the midterms and be able to revolt in the the ballot box

Excellent point -- Adam, please address: Can the orange nut-in-cheat do this?
I think Adam could do a whole show on this question!
Yes, what other horrors are ahead ?
I'd love him to do that!

Take note, Adam!
Lobbyist jobs aside, why haven't more of them gone (I)?
If it were that easy, several would have done it by now. For starters, caucusing with Dems means the GOP would pull all support from their campaign and Trump would endorse a primary opponent. Of course, they could do a lot of good until being ousted.
HEAR! HEAR!

Almost everything he does fits the definition.

With the new SCOTUS ruling about voting, will it have grave effects on the midterms and in favor of the gop?
And, are you considering running for a political office again and if so what position and with which party?
yes please Adam, please run for something! we need more honest voices in gov, & especially ones who appeal to former Republicans & recovering magats! please & thank you 🙏🏻❤️🔥🇺🇸‼️

When is it legal for Fetterman to change his party and when he does (and he will), will there be a new election?
Dear God I cannot believe how this man has been brainwashed.
The way he insists on dressing at work should've had him ousted years ago. 🤦🏻♀️

Trump says gas prices will drop immediately after the strait of Hormuz is opened. Economists say it will take months. What’s your take on this?
I am interested in learning about this too.
Come on now, everything out of Rump's mouth is a lie.

Trump and Netanyahu's motivations are to stay out of jail. So long as a war is on, they're pretty much untouchable.
The entirety of the government's actions over the past year and a half feels like somebody just flushed the toilet and the country is spiraling toward the sewer. Where is the hope?

I think only governors can call the guard and only for unrest or national disasters.
yes, exactly, that's what I mean. i keep hearing that if 🧊 or military are sent to polls in blue states, govs could call up National Guard in response. But imho that just sounds like an invite to Civil War. i rewrote my question above to clarify, thanks for revealing the confusion 🙏🏻
