Painting the reflecting pool, the arch, the ballroom and any of the other million projects he’s starting are costing a lot of money. Money we don’t have does he not have to go to Congress and get permission for any of that? And if he does, why aren’t they doing something about it and opposing him just so frustrating thank you.
When (if) we finally have a fairly normal administration in charge, do you think it will be possible that some or any of the people unjustly fired will offered their former jobs—if they’re even willing to return? Is there also a chance that international organizations from which he has withdrawn the U.S. would be willing to reinstate the U.S., though obviously not in a favored position?
Why don't I read about any effort to recruit a few GOP Congressmen/women to switch parties? With a super-thin majority, it seems within reach. Self interest alone would dictate that representatives from competitive districts will have a better chance of keeping their jobs as Democrats. They'd be heroes, and could bring an end to our national suffering.
Miles Taylor wrote an excellent article on defiance.news a few weeks ago addressing exactly that issue. He said they wouldn't even have to switch parties, they could just decide to "caucus with" Dems, and that we only need 3 to do the trick. he even suggested the most likely candidates. I think the only effort on such a thing would have to be grassroots, which would mean figuring out how to motivate the conservative constituents of this handful of potential heroes to make a whole lot of noise. I've been grappling with how such a thing could be made manifest, ever since I read that article. looking forward to hearing Adam's response on this one!

How do we convince the Democrats that they absolutely have to develop a platform that is specific to the needs and wants of the American public? They have to understand that they CANNOT run an Anti-Trump campaign and expect to win purple, and God-forbid, a red district! I'm already seeing this exact "strategy" in some of the primaries. The American voter needs to see what they plan to do with specifics in how they will try to carry the promise out. For example, "I will lower taxes!" Now I want to know HOW you are going to do that. I am a life-long Democrat, but I will vote for the candidate that has a solid plan, even if the plan may not work exactly as designed. How do we get these Democrats to understand that???

When a person leaves Congress, what benefits does he/she receive?
I ask because I hope it’s not a lifetime pension and/or free medical/dental insurance because a lot them, in my opinion, don’t deserve it…and I’m not talking just one political party!
And is there a difference if they retire from Congress vs. just leave?

How do we restore the voting rights that the Supreme Court gutted while also getting away from the tit-for-tat gerrymandering that has ramped up because of the ruling? These actions, on both sides, are only causing the rift in this country to grow deeper and wider.
The entirety of the government's actions over the past year and a half feels like somebody just flushed the toilet and the country is spiraling toward the sewer. Where is the hope?
