Adam I am mortified. I just heard that the soldier that attempted to jump off the USS Abraham Lincoln may get in trouble and get drop and pay and or rank. As someone who works in behavioral health, I find it absolutely appalling and if this is the case, we need to speak out about this because it’s not OK to be punished for having these suicidal ideations considering the horrible situation, they were in, and God only knows what else this service member was going through..
Apparently the"jumper" was an aircraft mechanic who needed contacts. He was ordered to work on a chopper but due to bring abandoned by Tegseth, Hrump. Hecciukd nit get the cintact he needed. He ran out ufvthe disposable krns days before. Abd he couldn't see well enough to repair. He was threatened abd ordered to do the work and on a critical flying machine, a mistake can be deadly. He knew he woukd be blamed if it crashed and the threats, pressure and lack ofv support from his superior officer realkybmade him desperate...so, he jumped. 😔 😟
It boggles my mind that as a country we still do NOT prioritize the health of minds, emotions and psyche. These soldiers are being asked to be “non-human” to not have this uncertainty of their deployment affect them. They are not robots. By ignoring over all mental health concerns in this country, we are putting ourselves in a dangerous position. Think about mass shootings, road rage, serial killings, mental and physical abuse, rape and sex trafficking…. most stemming from, imho, unrecognized and untreated mental disorders. It seems it’s still a taboo subject just as it was 100 years ago.
I have heard from other experienced military/intelligence content creators that this is the NORM! I was shocked, too, but I probably just don’t understand enough about the military system. These other creators did say that the military person would definitely receive psychological support and care, so that’s at least something. I think the system needs revamping but - again - I am not an experienced military member.
Well, I work in behavioral health and anytime someone attempted suicide that is not normal and it’s absolutely wrong to be punished for it. I’m so tired of behavioral health being treated like a choice. It’s a sickness of the mind just like someone has diabetes or heart issues or whatever.
I wish our spineless lawmakers on both sides of the aisle would stand up and speak out loudly this isn’t acceptable then put actions to in place to FINALLY do something.
This is what happens when you put a friggin’ Fox “News” host in charge of the military. It still boggles the mind. I hope mutiny is on the horizon, I really do. In a peaceful way I mean, just taking a stand and saying, “Enough! No more!” as the very brave Major Jason Watson did.
What these sicko psychos have done to our country in just a year and a half is unbelievable. We must get our country BACK. My deepest respect and blessings to all of our military men and women, who continue to endure this massive incompetence. 🙏🏼 🫡 ❤️ 🇺🇸
My heart goes out to these dedicated military and their families. Please know we think of them every day and worry about their well being. Hopefully this interview will speed things up. God bless our military
Subjecting our servicemen and women and their families to this kind of mental, physical and emotional torture is unconscionable. Thank you for advocating for these folks!
Thank you and the service member who spoke. Besides writing my hopeless congressman, how can we support these troops and especially their families who are suffering. As a Gold Star mother, I've seen how hard long deployments are on a wife and children. There must be a way to wrap our arms around them.
The fact the Trump and Hegseth, with GOP members of Congress, believe that our military personnel are to used, abused and ignored, is so infuriating. Every. Day. They. Do. Something. Angering. Many Americans, protest, write, call, …following peaceful methods. We’ll vote in November. But all indications are pointing that Trump, his administration, his business partners, and GOP members of Congress believe that all Americans are to be used, abused and ignored as very likely elections will be disrupted and unfair.
Apparently Fox Entertainment is run 24/7 in military quarters & the lower ranks esp are susceptible to it’s messages ." altho the more educated & higher ranks are not so gullible.
Perhaps this dehumanizing deployment will help some service members ‘see’ what a farce the current admin, GOP, Fox & MAGA is. 🙄
Thank you Adam. It’s a shame that those at the Pentagon and White House don’t listen to anyone and fire anyone who dares to speak up. This is not sustainable.
Thank you to both of you for your service. What was proposed, to have reasonable rotations is an excellent idea although it seems common sense to me. The Guard is supposed to be PART TIME as they all have other civilian lives.
Honestly, it is concerning that leadership can’t see the need for rotations of duty and time at home, ESPECIALLY because the guard is PART TIME! Even if a person is enlisted, they still need family time and R&R!
So how does military leadership get this message? Do you send this conversation to military leadership? To Congress people who will act on this by investigating what is going on?Thank you Adam for bringing this forward and keep us posted as to whether or not military leadership gets the message and actually listens to what is purposed!
This reminds me of how Russia treats its military. They just don't give a damn. Throw them into Ukraine and be killed by the thousands so evil Putin can try to capture another country. These poor guys are deserting rather than going into certain death. And now here we are. The Lincoln was appalling and punishing that poor man who tried to commit suicide is beyond reprehensible. Deploying the national guard for months on end with no notice -- as your interview revealed -- makes me sick. What can we do? I can write/call my reps and senators. Is there anyone else we can contact to complain?

No wonder he was distraught. If this is a true story that makes it even worse.

I did 27 years with AF and ANG and thank heaven that none of those years was serving under the Draft Dodger in Chief.
All I can say is damn damn double damn.🥲🫡

Excellent post, Adam

It’s a crime against humanity, what they’re doing to these military people.
