He's never had to work hard and he's never had to truly deal with disappointment without being surrounded by sycophants. What else can we expect from this manchild?
“Manchild” seems to me to be too nice of a word. Sniveling blob is more appropriate for me. He’s antagonized ALL OF OUR TRUE ALLIES, and acted friendly to dictators! Will the dictators help you my little spud?
More of the same only worse. I think he is working on tearing our historic White House down and leave a note in cement that says, “Trump was here.” He is clearly not dealing with a full deck of cards.
As for our beloved White House, I think once bulldoze donny is gone, we should tear it down and build a new one befitting our renewed commitment to continue our evolving experiment in democracy.
I’ve noticed comments on social media from people in other countries getting more and more angry (understandably), and they’re increasingly directing their anger at the American people, not just the president. It’s getting to be a more dangerous world for us as individual citizens of the US. I’m a dual citizen 🇺🇸🇨🇦 and planning a trip abroad. Needless to say, I’ll be emphasizing my Canadian citizenship while in other countries. It’s so disheartening.
It's understandable. None of this would be possible if the American people had informed themselves and learned their lesson from the Iraq disaster and then the first Trump presidency.
Trump succeeded OBAMA, of all presidents. How could the American people EVER make such a huge mistake?
This is not just Trump. This is the entire GOP and countless US billionaires taking control of the government, the media, the military, and all for merely two reasons: personal greed and the belief in neofascism.
It's the entire US CULTURE that needs to change. That will only happen if everyone gets involved...
Thank you for this. Your last sentence nailed it. Our ENTIRE CULTURE needs to change. For the record: I was a wide-eyed 6th grader who watched JFK's inauguration speech live in 1961 (it was a school holiday on that Friday). Once again, thank you.
I don’t disagree at all that the culture needs to change. I am worried that all Americans are being increasingly blamed and hated, when most of us are just as scared as everyone else. Here is a great article from Robert Reich that perfectly sums up the message that I think we want the rest of the world to hear: https://robertreich.substack.com/p/trump-alone?r=5g0qrs&utm_medium=ios
With all due respect, if all you do is running around scared while letting the government destroy the economies of its best allies, destroy anti-nuclear treaties, destroy climate change agreements, destroy trade agreements, commit one war crime after the other etc. ... what do you think people in the rest of the world will do? Running scared too. Scared of the American people.
If you want the world not to blame Americans for their behavior because Americans are "scared", we can immediately turn around the argument and ask you to understand that the world is scared too. It's just that, for now, the world's fear doesn't make it blow up the US (yet), contrary to what a scared America is doing to the rest of the world.
"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."
This is meant as a positive comment. It’s important to know that we are trying. We do know the damage that is being done to the world. We are pushing back. We are not “letting” the government destroy the world.
This is what we are doing: When the regime sent armed troops into our cities to arrest, hurt, and even kill innocent civilians, millions of Americans pushed back and chased them out. We put relentless pressure on our members of congress, and we are aggressively voting people into office who can turn this around.
We are not just sitting around, and it’s not accurate to say that we are.
This is why it is upsetting to me that some - only some - people are directing hate to us individuals. We’re not alone. Many fascist dictators have risen to power in spite of the efforts of ordinary people to fight back. Then, over time, most of those evil, inhuman “leaders”have been brought down.
We have won many battles already, and I have faith that we will eventually win the war. See what happens in November when we have our next national election.
Of course we are scared. But Americans ARE fighting back. He and the billionaires running this country won’t be defeated overnight, but we are fighting. This is the message that we have for our friends in other countries.
Just to give you an idea (on top of what I wrote below, in my first reply to this post): where is the real criticism, the cultural criticism, whether coming from the pro-democratic right or left?
All I see is individuals denouncing politicians (and usually it's limited to denouncing ONE politician: Trump).
In a democracy, we always have the government "we deserve". So what CAUSED US culture to degenerate to such an extent? I don't see any conversations or debates about this question yet.
What is it that, culturally, the left got wrong in the US, in the last 50 years? And the right (again, we're talking about the pro-democracy right here, since it's a weakening of pro-democracy cultural values on the right that allows neofascists to grab power and take over conservative parties)?
Other countries have quite a few things to say about these questions. Are Americans willing to listen and consider this type of criticism... ?
I’m telling you the answer is YES! There are millions of us intelligent and open-minded enough to understand all of these things. We need to stop this back and forth. You can keep hating me. I give up.
Yes, I do understand what you're saying. But if the problem is cultural (which, according to all experts in fascism - see also Antonio Gramsci - it always is), I'm afraid that SO much more will be needed than protesting and calling Congress (no matter how important that obviously is too).
I guess all I'm trying to say is that IF you want to argue that not a lot more is being done, right now, because of emotional reasons (people are scared), it's equally understandable that the rest of the world reacts emotionally too (with hatred and blame).
And of course, I do believe that ideally, the rest of the world can be emotionally more intelligent than the American people today, and react rationally and help to defeat fascism in the US rather than just blindly hating no matter what American. It's not always the case though (that non-Americans are so much more emotionally intelligent...).
Ok, I don’t honestly think that we are on different sides here.
I can’t stop people hating us. My comment was meant to say that it is discouraging to see it, because it is.
Most of us ARE fighting. I want the world to be a better place for my 3 kids, and for everyone. I, personally, am fighting. We want to help fix this ugliness.
That’s exactly what he is…a f*cking CHILD. I am just waiting for him to hold his breath and start stomping his feet. MAGA is utterly out of their minds!
I'm sure many of us were aware of Trump's childish demeanor. He’s lived a life marked by bullying, greed, and corruption, so nothing should come as a surprise. What truly saddens me is the erosion of America's standing and the weakening of our allies globally. Russia and China certainly got what they aimed for in 2024.
Malignant narcissists are never wrong, thus they never apologize. If trump was told by Susie Wyles to apologize he might have a stroke. Go for it, Susie.
my 6 and 7 year old grandkids know when they do something wrong. Although they sometimes stomp their feet, sulk and refuse to apologize at first, but after they find out the consequences of their actions, they eventually do. And that's how they learn. It's called becoming a responsible person and learning how to get along with people. I guess trump never learned that? his family and society created a monster!!
You don't need to be a psychologist to know that he behaves like a child or that he is a malignant narcissist, frankly. I'd go so far as to say, psychopath.......
Well at least SOMEONE is telling him NO! What did he expect, when he's slapped all our allies in the face. I am so embarrassed at what he has done. Even when he's no longer around, I wonder if we can ever undo the damage that he has caused, especially when he has been supported by his sycophants. I hope that the world doesn't think that we are all like that!
Well said! You always seem to be able to interpret Mr. Crazy….
Thanks for enforcing what Mary has been saying for 10+ years.
He's never had to work hard and he's never had to truly deal with disappointment without being surrounded by sycophants. What else can we expect from this manchild?

He literally has "no cards"
As for our beloved White House, I think once bulldoze donny is gone, we should tear it down and build a new one befitting our renewed commitment to continue our evolving experiment in democracy.
Thank you 🙏!!

Be thankful you have that ticket out. I wish I did.

We need to change the whole Republican Party that is loyal to King Trump.

I just want you to know that I have worked with Canadians and I really like your humor and appreciate your honesty. Thanks, Mate. 🇨🇦🍁

Maybe the jackass needs to apologize!
Malignant narcissists are never wrong, thus they never apologize. If trump was told by Susie Wyles to apologize he might have a stroke. Go for it, Susie.
He won’t because he is 6 years old in his head and hasn’t reached the age of reasoning.

His family did the most damage. Their money helped it along. I’m sure he has paid off so many people over the years.
So true!
Too late!
Good! Diaper Donny needs a dose of his own medicine!
You don't need to be a psychologist to know that he behaves like a child or that he is a malignant narcissist, frankly. I'd go so far as to say, psychopath.......
Who's letting him get away with this... it's a board game and he's bored now ...there are no grown ups in the room
Donald is now distancing himself from Trump. Donald says Trump has been very unfair to Donald.
Well at least SOMEONE is telling him NO! What did he expect, when he's slapped all our allies in the face. I am so embarrassed at what he has done. This would not have happened under any other president, Democrat or Republican.
We are living in a alternate universe!!
I think any parent recognizes that behavior and how to deal with it. Now where will we find the “parents” to help us out.
He’s a malignant narcissist. Plain and simple.
