Thank you, Adam (and Mr. van Wormer).

Did you HEAR what DJT said recently?

Analysis by Aaron Blake, CNN, posted to America Online April 2, 2026, 2:39PM EST: https://www.aol.com/news/trump-gaffe-war-daycare-epitomizes-170336399.html

(Title) "'We're fighting wars. We can't take care of day care': Trump's ill-timed rant"

(Excerpt)

The president began by recalling a conversation he had with Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought.

“I said to Russell, ‘Don’t send any money for day care,’ because the United States can’t take care of day care. That has to be up to a state,” Trump said. “We can’t take care of day care. We’re a big country. We have 50 states. We have all these other people.”

Trump then added, in quick succession: “We’re fighting wars. We can’t take care of day care.”

He said states should raise their taxes to pay for day care and health care.

---------------

A war in Iran that HE began?

If he is not assassinated or if he does not suddenly find himself dead, perhaps in front of a news camera, when his advancing age requires day care, may his comments be jammed right back up his executivesque, regalesque ass.

Ya rush headlong into a poorly-planned war based on the fever dreams of a madman, and shit is going to go South. I would have a hard time not trying to murder the POTUS if my son was shot down while cruising around the Gulf in an American jet, and tortured or killed. Big time. Thankfully I'm not in that situation. Still, our fellow Americans are suffering in numerous ways--and for me not the least of which is financially and mentally.

Exactly. This is the material point - even for those of us who don't have loved ones out there. We. Shouldn't. Be. There. Starting a war to distract people from the fact that the president of the United States is very likely a pedophile is not the way. Berating allies for not helping after spending months berating them for... existing and telling everyone you don't need any help is not the way. The whole thing is insane.

I could not agree with you more, Maria K. We are in the throes of a kafkaesque nightmare. Frankly, Kafka would find the scenario we find ourselves in surrealistic.

Thank you Adam for giving us clear and understandable information on how the US military is working to rescue the downed crew members. You explained very well the process, the dangers, and the reasons for performing this extremely risky task.

Thanks, Adam. This is the antidote I needed to balance out my anger at Trump’s faux brave chest thumping which feels like stolen valor to me every time. And I feel renewed hope for the crew.

I feel trump is even MORE responsible than ever for the war he needlessly created.

I was coming here to say this!

Thank you for sharing your expertise and insights. After Hegseth's "No mercy, no quarter" BS, I am grateful to the Iranians for asking that the downed persons not be harmed. Would Hegseth do the same?

thank you for your loving heart

Praying for these pilots, and all those involved in search and rescue in hostile territory.. Needless to say, for their families.. I cant imagine what would be going through the minds of every family of a fighter pilot. It makes me heartsick as we did not need to put our military in this position, in the first place. Adam, once again...thank you for using your expertise and experiences to let us know what is happening and how it feels

Well said! And so true. Been there done that. Former fighter pilot. Robert Bailey MG retired.

This is the news we dread to hear. Thank you for keeping us informed and hopeful. Above all, Adam, thank you for your service to your country, both past and present. You represent the best of the best. Christian can be forever proud of his dad.

And when the chickens come home to roost, you would make a great Sec Def and bring honor back to the position.

Thank you for this. Prayers for the airmen and the rescuers, and prayers for an end to this madness.

I immediately wept when I saw the news- horrified for our airmen, guardians, and their families.

I was waiting for your input, Adam, and you absolutely have brought your calm comfort and optimism, along with granular detail (information is an asset in times of crisis).

Thank you for your continual leadership. Your voice is a balm for a scared citizenry.

Excellent information, Adam. I wish I had more to offer than thoughts and prayers, but I will make do with what I have. I pray for the rescue of the fighter jet crew as well as for the safety of those on this rescue mission.

Donna's avatar

Thank you, Adam. This time I am shedding real tears. Not tears of frustration and embarrassment over the horrendous actions of our government, but tears of pride. I am so touched to know of the extreme effort our servicemen and women go through just save one of our own. My prayers are with any service member who is down in enemy territory, with those who are dedicated to bringing them home safely, and to the leaders who have trained them for these circumstances. May God be with them all.

Praying the crew is safe. These stories are terrifying and even more so when you think about the motives for this war and the lack of planning for the day after. Feels somewhat reassuring there is a plan in place for operations like this.
