It will be SO important for the results to be wide margins. Joyce Vance, a Substacker I admire greatly, former DOJ, says that if the Democrat wins by a wide margin even Mike Johnson will be hard put not to seat them.
Michael Luttig had an article a couple weeks ago about how the MAGA folks could use the seating process as a way to hang the final decision up in the courts for long enough for the MAGA folks to do some real damage. Scared the heck out of me.
I saw that too! I am grateful there is so much real news coming out despite the MSM not having “space” for or being too afraid to post. We ought to be scared but with the type of fear that animates us, not paralyzes us! We SHALL overcome!
If ever we needed an anti-Republican wave, it's now. I'm not advocating for conservative or liberal ideals...just a return to normal order, where we treat our allies with dignity and deal with our enemies appropriate to their behavior. I'm looking for honesty and justice from our government. Unfortunately, the Republican Party has earned America's disgust, as well as their distrust and mistrust. I'm hoping for a return to the day when compromise was possible.

Knocking people off of voting rolls, eliminating polling places in blue districts, siccing ICE on polling places (all dressed up in gear, including electric gloves, intimidating the hell outa voters), stealing boxes of ballots, the House refusing to seat Dem winners, Trump's endless parade of challenges, etc......There's a long list, really, that I'm not thinking of at the moment. While the news of Dem candidates doing well and voters turning against Reps feels good to read, I don't want my hopes to be dashed on wet rocks of reality in November.
I hope you'll address questions related to that problem in your upcoming AMAs.

We cannot be complacent. There is no room for error. VOTE, VOTE, VOTE! Urge your spouse to vote, your parents, your friends. We must turn out in TSUNAMI numbers to take down the regime.
A blue wave would be a great first step, but if it happens, they are faced with some very difficult or intractable issues. How steadfast will the American voter be in the face of the difficulties with the economy brought on by higher fuel prices, with the declining trade leverage brought on by Trump's abysmal tariffs/allies, etc. I continue to be worried that there are now no quick solutions and that a longer range view of problem solving will be needed.
My personal advice to any Democrat running for high offices is that they should not promise to reverse any or all of the messes DT created in a short period of time. They should make the voting public aware that, although it will take some time to get our country back to normal, their promise to us should be that they will all "make it so", no matter how long it may take. God help them.
Agree. It's not going to be an easy fix. It will take the hard work that politicians in both parties have been avoiding for a long time, including belt-tightening, changing the tax code so that massive wealth doesn't accumulate into a few hands, more money for the IRS to do its business, getting money out of politics, seriously going after fraud in Medicare and Medicaid, securing our borders but with safe, effective, humane policies including giving immigrants brought to the U.S. as children a path to citizenship and more money for the courts and judges who hear immigration cases, making changes to social security and medicare/medicaid that make them financially more secure... difficult complex issues.

Ditto Hillary. In sept2016 Nate Silver’s polls gave her a 94% chance of winning. Maybe musk’s or Moscow’s celebrated prowess with hacking tabulation suftware was part of why that was wrong. How many states have done anything to address those vulnerabilities? It’s very telling where we are in this country when so many of us do not trust the administration to uphold the most patriotic things one of things we fought for , lost our loved ones fighting for freedoms , VOTING! Vote for who we feel be the best for the country, the best for the constituents in our community. To me , the Republican Party has died , reincarnated into MAGA. This is what we need to vote against , I am a democrat, a discouraged one at times , but these elections are not about party politics. These coming elections are about voting out the MAGA , authoritarian and power hungry. I pray Trump and his cronies do not override the voting process . With the lies they spew , the criminal activities going on, I put nothing past these control , money focused , bigots who are in charge. We all need to vote it’s needs to be a landslide. 🇺🇸

I really don’t like news like a blue wave is coming. I think too many people can use this as an excuse to not vote. Feelings of “this is in the bag” can lead to people not showing up on Election Day. We need to have much better turn out at the polls to indicate what people care about and not tolerate . We should never take voting for granted.
