You're right Adam. This story is what is so good about this country, the decency of people helping people they don't even know. Thank you for sharing such an uplifting story. It makes most everything better knowing this!
I love this! I was telling my grandkids about walking around at Halloween with a UNICEF box/can and bringing them back to school the next day. They thought that sounded odd. Then I said, "you're going to strangers houses asking for them to give you candy!" They admitted that was super strange when you think about it.
Maybe changing the mindset of kids at this young age to care about community by collecting for others with a little UNICEF box could change their trajectory in a healthier direction.
Even though I don't especially like yards full of skeletons and the like for Halloween, this great story may change my mind. St. Jude's is an incredible institution, and these kind and generous people deserve high praise.
Thank you. I love the theme of helping children. Another way service members and vets can help kids is by becoming mentors for Gold Star children through TAPS.ORG. I am a Peer Mentor for grieving moms, and I am thankful for the vets who mentored my grandchildren.
Today (November 1st). Is All Saints Day in the Catholic and other churches. Acts of kindness are not a thing of the past and are ever more necessary in our very troubled times.
Jeff Robertson’s story reminds me of the story of St. Jude itself. A father made a simple effort for his own children, and it grew into a great good for many others, raising more than a million dollars for St. Jude. A small, kind gesture, returned with a great deal of thanks.

Made my morning and brought me to tears
Tears to me as well!

What a wonderful thing to do!

I remember the UNICEF box also! People were always very generous with such a cause. And, apparently, still are, which is fantastic.
Adam, thank you for this episode. You are truly a class act!
How about we suspend the war for two days and have the Government give the saved money to St. Jude’s?
This one brought tears to my eyes and for all the right reasons. Thank you.

There is always good in our country. It just seems over shadowed by the current criminal admin. Thanks for good news Sunday. It always
restores my hope in everyway. In our current political climare your good news is a welcome pick-me up.
God bless you Mr. K

This warms my heart and makes me smile. Thanks for that!
PS: I donate every year to St. Jude too
Once in a blue moon, good can take off and ricochet around the world before evil has even put its pants on in the morning. It DOES happen…

Thank you!
Reminds me of the importance of community. It feels like many of us have lost that in these dystopian times… thanks for the encouragement ❣️
Thank you Adam! Very positive and inspiring!
Maybe there is room in the Oval for a thoughtful, concerned capable Independent!!!
