Thank you, Adam! I said it before and I’ll say it again. I appreciate that your good news Sunday is a detailed column on one topic, rather than brief accounts of several topics that are regularly covered by a couple other sources. (I enjoy those as well, but it is nice to have something different!) This is indeed very good news, and I hope the trend continues in spite of cuts being made in various sectors.
Bravo! Thanks, Adam, for presenting a little bit more of a balanced news. It made me feel hopeful for what our country can do versus can't do. I appreciate and am in awe of your investigative mind that presents us with the truth, but unveiling the good stuff helps to keep our fragile bones stronger to continue to stand up for what's right!
This IS good news...unfortunately, not in time to save my 19yo grandson who we lost in 2021...he had just enlisted in the Air Force...my daughter's only child...our lives are forever changed. Hopefully more will be saved.
I agree with the many comments already made! The shame is, that while you and others took advantage of the Medicare/Medicaid system, the republican blather continues to disparage and focus on destroying those systems and refuse to address the crisis of Healthcare of millions of Americans! It's easy to be critical of the system when one is sitting in congress with the best health insurance money can buy!
Thank you for sharing this positive news. Our local sheriff spoke at a village counsel meeting and discussed Narcan. It’s good educate the community about ways to help.
It is wonderful news. Of course, I’m just waiting for Trump and his band of miscreants to claim that the reason it’s down is because of their war illegal immigrants who are of course ruining this country with bringing in drugs. They’ll find a way to take credit for it
And like God…on the 7th day we rested. The other 6 were/are hellscapes! So thank you, Adam. I do love and appreciate good news and as always you wrote an excellent article.
Excellent news, thank you. My small rural community reflects those statistics. We've lost a couple people recently to OUD and its social and physical side effects, but that's nothing compared to what the death notices looked like in the past. Back then, if you saw an obit for someone under age 60, you assumed a) car/ATV accident, b) covid and most of all c) drug overdose.
So happy for this trend. Our non profit treatment center is saving mothers and babies every day! Families are turning around. It’s because of local heroes, not killing people on fishing boats.
Anything worth doing is ALWAYS going to be hard work…dogged, tedious, persistent, demanding hard work. As is said, if it was easy, everyone would be doing it. 🫡
Good news is a healing balm given all the depressing news we are bombarded with each day. Thank you for sharing something positive.
I love me some positive news.

Look what we can do when we do it together!

I love the fact that I can read good news from you on Sunday!
That is good news if true. But should we trust any numbers from today’s CDC?
