I lived in Illinois all my life until I moved to Texas for family reasons a couple of years ago. Illinois has been gerrymandering to elect more Democrats for years & years, and I hate gerrymandering as much as Adam does. BUT. But when Abbott caved immediately to Trump’s demand for a mid cycle redistricting in Texas, I thought Game On. Good for Virginia!
Republicans are very conveniently 'forgetting' that their ruby red Supreme Ct last year ruled that partisan redistricting is fine. That case involved some horrible southern state trying to district-out black voters. The Red Supremes were okay with that. Now the Reds are angry it can be used against white voters as well???

If your birth certificate does not match your drivers license, as of 1/1/27, you will need other proof of citizenship to register to vote. I think a real ID drivers license is good for the November election. Please check with your local election office and vote.
Florida is already gerrymandered, however, I believe they are going to do away with any district that is reliably blue.
As Adam has said repeatedly, it’s not about party anymore, our democracy or republic is a stake.
I think some states are not accepting Real ID as proof because a foreign passport is among the valid documents you can present for it. Basically it is just proof that you are who you say you are and you live where you say you live.
For the last several years, in the state of Florida, in order to renew your drivers license you needed to prove US citizenship. When I renewed my drivers license, being a married women, I change my name, so I presented a US passport.
In order to use a passport, it must be current. Under this new law, its birth certificate, passport to register to vote. They eliminated many forms of identification that people were once able to use. So, if you have been married and changed your name you can use your marriage license. Mine is 41 years old, but I have it, and it contains my maiden name.
When I renewed my license, there was an elderly couple that had relocated to Florida. They were there to change their license from Michigan to Florida. They were told they needed proof of American citizenship. They were stunned and left bewildered. I almost said welcome to Florida.
Wish I lived on the Left Coast, but my grandchildren are here :).

I now live in VA-05, a reliably red (55%) district. I have had absolutely no representation since I moved here. Liar McGuire is MAGA, who has no contact with constituents and does nothing to help the district which is majority rural, with rural not-flourishing (and maybe even poverty). He voted to cut many of the benefits his R-constituents depend on, thinking he was only harming poor blacks? He lied. I will work as hard as need be to kick him to the curb. A single-term Congressman, he won't get a pension. That adds fuel to my fire.

But I don’t think that anyone should be ashamed of who they voted for as long as you have done your research and believe that they are the best choice.
While this might get me some nasty comments I will still type it…third party candidates should do the right thing and drop out of the race if they don’t have the votes before their name is put on the ballot. I don’t have anything against third parties but they tend to split the democrat vote way too much even when they are under water. I get it…most people would love to stick it to a bad candidate already in office but at what expense? In the last election we saw the outcome of that expense because we got T back.
From now until the 2028 election (and hopefully beyond) we can’t sit at home hoping that others will fix for us. Even if you are unable to leave the house (I am one who can’t) there are plenty of actions one can take. Because I am sure that T is not done assaulting our voting rights (along with the help of some other people) please everyone stay updated on your state laws, check your registration often, if you vote by ballot please request it early and fill it out the minute you get it and send it back immediately (or drop it off in a box or at the Board of Elections) and if you vote in person double check your voting site before you go because some states have been changing them without much notice.
