Trump just refused to meet with Democrats. A shutdown is on Trump

Everything is on Trump. He started all this BS. So tired of it all. Of course I know there are others fully involved, but he’s the ringleader IMHO.

If the Democrats aren't in this for a fight, we all lose. Keep up the pressure, we appreciate you! Thank you for meeting the moment head on Adam. I don't think of you as a Republican or Democrat, only a patriot in the truest sense of the word.

Adam, I’m hoping your answers will quiet some of the minds of those who are confused. I’m all for a shut down as long as the Dems can message it correctly as to whom is culprit facilitating it. (Should the Dems hires a PR firm to get this right? lol). You are absolutely right that there is a nuanced message in this. It probably needs to be put out on Tik Tok and X as those seem to reach the broadest audience. I can’t believe that there are a lot of people who have no idea this is looming. They have time to watch cat videos and other stuff but not current events?

Thanks Adam: Schumer and Jefferies have got to start screaming from the podium and let the folks know who is responsible for the shut down if it should occur. Forget the various issues and paint the republicans guilty. Its on the republicans, not the democrats. Mr. Schumer don't be so wishy washy, shut the show down. Quit trying to converse with the republicans prior to a shut down, close her down and then talk. Trump will be on the air constantly blaming the dems, get out there and speak up.

I love the closing comment “I just want shit to work.“ Perfect Adam keep up the good work your voice, your thoughts your experience really are helpful. We all want this shit to work.

Thanks Adam for reading our comments and caring enough to do this video! The ones who asked you about attacking the Democrats must be new readers because you don't!! Have a great day!

Remember too! We welcome them!!

Just called Schumer and Jeffries and left msg asking them to let the Republicans own the shutdown. (I saw tweet from Trump that he cancelled the mtg with them) and to leave it be. Make the republicans come to them. It is about time the republicans take responsibility for something. May not help but makes me feel a bit better.

That you are "not beholden to anybody"--but bound by the defense of democracy and the Constitution--is exactly why we trust you. Keep up the Good Work.

You are not overloading. We need clear and intelligent voices more than we need this other rhetoric. We’re having to listen to. Thank you for speaking out. Thank you for your explanations. I always feel a small sense of relief after listening to you.

thank so much for this, Adam, you are the most clear cut, level-headed commentator that I have heard in recent days. I know you are a Republican, at least you were, but you are so moderate in your thinking I hope you run for the US Senate or even the Presidency in 2028!!

"I just want shit to work" - campaign slogan '28

Kandy Brown's avatar

Maybe a slogan for running for President. If he doesn't, we will be in DEEP shit, but he needs someone powerful,(and rich) to back him. It seems most rich people back Trump!

(I am very disappointed with the Silicon Valley. I thought they were our future. Only Bill Gates seems to be the hold-out, and Steve Jobs is dead!

Agree wholeheartedly. The fact Schumer wouldn't say he would vote against is infuriating. his answer of "we hope the president will sit down with us and..." is absolutely ridiculous. He still thinks he can come to agreements with that ass or his minions??

He needs to go.

Kat Hudy's avatar

Agree. It’s time for Schumer & others to grow a spine. Stop being so nice. Trump & the GOP are not nice. Make them come to the Dems. Let it be known, that this on the Republicans, and no one else!

Peggy Fahy's avatar

Schumer was smart for not explicitly stating Democrats would vote against it. He knows that would be the message that Republicans would blast out to Fox News and all the right-wing mouthpieces, and then the massaging everyone hears is “Democrats are voting to shut down government,” which then becomes “Dems are responsible.” So by Schumer deliberately NOT making such a statement means the Dems can push their messaging. Listen to how many times he repeats the phrase “The Trump Shutdown” during that newscast. THAT’S exactly the message Dems need to keep pushing.

Morris in Strength in numbers (as per quote in today’s HCR letters from an American ):

“64.1% of American adults eligible to vote went to the polls in 2024.” I suggest…Let’s wake-up the other two thirds.

Robert Harris's avatar

but wouldn't that make it 130%.?? :0)

I know what you mean. Keep up thinking and resisting

I stand corrected. Thx.
