I feel ill. Every single day, I feel ill.

Ya…. I’m sure you’re not alonr

He or she is not :)

No. Not alone. Shame is also being felt.

I truly enjoyed the comment of a subscriber who has renamed Donald Trump.

His royal name is "His A**holiness."

What has the UN done for him lately? Omg, he is so Janet Jackson!

If he gets Greenland, won't we have to re-do all the flags to reflect the 51 United States? He simply must be the center of world attention, and I think most of them are laughing at him.

Isn't he working on the gilded ballroom anymore? He just can't make up his mind, can he? Greenland, gilded ballroom, tariffs? So many decisions. So little time. I'm still waiting on his tariff payment LoL. I wonder what will come first: His tariff payments to the population at large, or his life's coming to an end. An orange corpse, the after-the-fact prototypical OOMPA LOOMPA (bwahahahaha):

You and I both know that no republicans are going to all of a sudden grow a spine and use it. They would just as soon send us into a war with Europe b4 they’d stand up and do the right thing:-(

Someone is diseased; you are symptomatic. Big difference.

JF's avatar

I feel so much better with a deep dive into semantics.

Ju's avatar

It sure appears Trump is manufacturing an international crisis in order to disband NATO at Putin’s bidding. And then, the Trump family & a handful of billionaires can cash in on Greenland’s rare earth minerals. Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress sit on their tiny hands.

Maureen Spitz's avatar

And don't forget that the Tech Bros (Thiel, etc.) appear to want to build two huge data processing centers for AI using the pure waters around Greenland.

Trump is certifiably demented and insane.

Albert Errato's avatar

YES!!! So WHEN ARE WE DOING IT???? So sick of the TALK, TALK, TALK - D O IT, JUST D O ITTTT!!!

Sandy Heinrich's avatar

Sadly, there is just no one to just do it. The people who CAN or COULD have no spines. Trump is grabbing other people's honors, awards and medals and they just bow to him and hand them over - and he cackles as if he deserves them. People fear a dictator for many reasons.

Albert Errato's avatar

Agree, and that's my point. But, how about WE step up and make noise? Why can't WE "reply" to all the whiners ... STOP WHINING - DEMAND ACTION, FROM ANYONE - EVERYONE, rather than just add our voices to the "whining"? How about - HEY Adam K. HEY Liz C. DO SOETHING! Give us direction, who, how to attack with our "Demands"? What is the most EFFECTIVE APPROACH? IF The Hump Baby can JUST DO OR SAY WHATEVER HE WANTS, WHY CAN'T WE? WHY NOT ATTACK THE MEDIA FOR GIVING THE "CHILD" AIR?

Marty Beert's avatar

Past time! Spineless self serving congresspeople let the clock tick on toward the destruction of our beautiful country. Once I looked at our flag feeling proud and patriotic. Now I look upon our flag as another MAGA symbol. Once I trusted law and justice would prevail. Now I see lawless ineptitudes in control of the justice system. Once I thought there were more caring, empathetic people in our country than the numbers of greedy supremacists. Now I know better. Ms Good lost her life at the hands of a masked kkk aka ICE agent and no justice to be served. Wake up America! Stop the madness, literally.

Dan Kane's avatar

I'm studying AI non-academically. AI is sharp, but not omniscient. AI has limitations. I would be happy to share my findings and eventually my results of my study. I won't invest in AI or cryptocurrency. I believe you, Miss Spitz: Trump is Peter Pan in a world where he not only matters but is important to everyone. Essential to everyone. Certifiably demented and insane. I heard a rumor that he almost stroked out recently.

Anne J.'s avatar

Well, his Cabinet of sycophants would have to do it, right? That’s never going to happen. Impeachment, conviction and removal is the only way. But with a totally complicit Republican Party, that’s not going to happen either.

Holly's avatar

What a very troubling scenario! Trump doesn’t receive the Nobel Peace Prize after stopping ‘eight’ wars! What? His presidency has caused nothing but chaos . How is that honorable and prize worthy ? It’s not even so much that Maria M offered it to him, it’s that he actually took it! So pathetic, even for a Narcissist . His photo op accepting it should signal that he is not okay. Everyday there is a new development in the saga of Trump. When does congress say ENOUGH? ‘The emperor has no clothes!’

Holly's avatar

Isn’t that a nightmare? I remember the shock of Nixon and this makes that look like child’s play. We’ve certainly taken many steps backwards in those 50 years!

Anne J.'s avatar

Don’t kid yourself. Plenty of these Republican pricks probably are poised to make money on it too.

Becky's avatar

He accepted a veteran’s Purple Heart. Trump “always wanted one.” But he would never actually sacrifice himself to earn one. So it’s no surprise he accepts these things. He doesn’t actually have to earn a damn thing. He is the sorriest POS that ever entered the White House. He would probably accept the POS prize if offered to him.

Adam Kinzinger's avatar

He really is just a child

julie's avatar

A deeply flawed and very broken child. If he weren't such a horrible sadistic specimen, I might find a corner of my heart feeling sorry for him. But he is and I can't.

TLO's avatar

Me either, and I've tried. It's not a good place to be, feeling so much anger and distain, and lacking respect for so many in our country.

Kat Hudy's avatar

I can’t either.

Kat Hudy's avatar

A mentally ill child.

Albert Errato's avatar

NO, he's NOT "just a child"!!! He is a SPOILED, WHINEY LITTLE BITCH! A Sissy, needs to go to his room with NO Supper. WHEN ARE WE GOING TO D O SOMETHING, STOP "TALKING", which is cheap, D O SOMETHING!

Ana warner's avatar

A very spoiled and entitled child… with the nuclear codes.

It's Come To This's avatar

He's spent his long, rotten life trying to grab things that didn't belong to him, like a 2-year-old who never learned to play nicely with the other children in the sandbox. Starting with you-know-what 🙀, our free and fair elections, Greenland, Venezuela's "oil" Maria Machado's Nobel Peace Prize -- you name it. What a douche, asshole and loser indeed. Shabby, tiny, pissy, vengeful, ugly blob of sadism and delusion.

Kari Gunderson's avatar

We know he really has a black heart filled with tar.

I think Denmark also was one of the first countries to recognize the United States - they recognized the United States in 1792, but had a commercial treaty in 1783 that is not discussed on this page https://history.state.gov/countries/denmark - I expect our Dept of State has a similar page for every country in the world.

Adam Kinzinger's avatar

Interesting.

HelenD's avatar

I agree that Congress should pursue this measure aggressively. At times I’m so frustrated that our reps are not doing enough to counter the attacks on our democracy. We gave them the power; why are they sitting on their hands.

Maureen Spitz's avatar

Cushy jobs, insider trading (which MAGA GOPs in Congress won't give up, evidently), superb healthcare (not like the 2x-3x more expensive Obama Care their constituents now have to pay - if they can), and hey - MAGA GOPs in Congress haven't worked much this year for their paltry $175K base per year. Not a bad gig. For the rest of the U.S.: let them eat cake. Of course, you know how that worked out in France.

Albert Errato's avatar

In many ways "THEY" Congress, OUR Leaders are worst than the HUMP! He's DOING THINGS, illegal, despicable, DANGEROUS.....and on and on and ON, BUT he's doing SOMETHING, everything and ANYTHING he wants to. WE, all of us, are doing NOTHING BUT whining, complaining, clutching our pearls.... BIG DEAL, where's that getting US????

HelenD's avatar

You speak truth.

HelenD's avatar

Exactly, and I’m mad as hell.

Paul Schlotthauer's avatar

I've read that these tariffs are to be imposed on Britain, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark-- some of our strongest allies! Can you imagine the sense of insult these countries must feel? Congress must do something; this man has to be stopped. A forced takeover of Greenland could lead to the dissolution of NATO, instability in Europe and in the Far East, and a collapse of the economy. All because of one evil, deranged man! And he'll now go around claiming he's got a Nobel Peace Prize even though the Committee has made it clear he doesn't, no matter whose medal is in his possession. It's like playing a board game with a very young child and "fixing" it so the kid wins. Except this very young child is the president of the country that's supposed to be the leader of the free world and has access to the nuclear codes. Congress must grow a pair and threaten him with impeachment (and conviction!) if he tries to follow through on Greenland. I hope and pray Europe will continue to stand up to him. The shame I feel right now at being American is beyond description.

Adam Kinzinger's avatar

The damage is generational

Albert Errato's avatar

True! It WILL take time, generations, to "fix" this one LOSERS tantrums. SO MAYBE WE SHOULD GET S T A R T E D !!!! THE SOONER THE WE START, THE SOONER WE WIN, AND THE LESS DAMAGE WILL BE DONE!!!!

Jess B.'s avatar

I feel that shame, Paul. I feel dirty. He and his sychophants are the ugliest manifestations ever of the Ugly American, with their deep sickness being practiced in our names, with human life lost in its wake, and more to come. I don't want to feel complicit -- I voted against this POS twice (thanks for the acronym, fellow commenter) -- and yet here "we" are, "our" nation: the biggest affront, in decades, to humanity, worldwide, and from within a democracy, no less. UGH.

Denise McInerney's avatar

Although I think that he is leaving, McConnell blasted Trump about annexing Greenland. Yes, he's in the senate, but his voice has sway across the party lines. It's just so ridiculous, because Greenland already works with us on security. I believe Eisenhower (an actual general) saw that Greenland was important to our national security. I believe that he was responsible for what is called the Greenland Agreement. And we already have a base there. Trump just has to "own" everything. He wants to be able to do anything he wants. Unfortunately, America seems to have let him do just that. In my opinion, he MUST be stopped from doing this and NOW!!!!!!!

Adam Kinzinger's avatar

We basically already have Greenland for what we need. So this is just Vanity

Kandy Brown's avatar

Agreed! And the beat goes on.........

Maureen Spitz's avatar

And don't forget that the Tech Bros (Thiel, etc.) appear to want to build two huge data processing centers for AI using the pure waters around Greenland.

Albert Errato's avatar

No, REALLY, Adam??? I really HATE TO SAY THIS, But I had such HIGH Confidence and Expectations for you, and Liz C, and this SITE when it first appeared. I thought "Okay, you GO Adam and Liz. NOW we'll see some POSITIVE actions and R E S U L T S! " Instead, what did we get??? Hopes, flashes of SANITY, BRAVE RETORIC, BUT nothing "concrete" - actionable. Just MORE Whining, we should's, we must's. WHY AREN'T Y O U, RALLYING US BEHIND SOME ACTIONS???? sorry, I TRULY do LOVE and RESPECT YOU - But!!!!

Paul Schlotthauer's avatar

That's the thing. Europe--specifically Denmark--has always acknowledged the strategic importance of Greenland. President Truman offered to buy it for, I think, ten million dollars in gold. Denmark refused but basically gave the U.S. carte blanche to build bases and do whatever was necessary to protect the West. So we still have as much access to Greenland as we need without owning it. None of Trump's hostility is remotely necessary.

Kandy Brown's avatar

Well now, looks like our "stable genius" president was lucky that Denmark didn't snooker him. BTW, that label "stable genius" is pure "horse shit"

AnaR737's avatar

This past week the Chairman of the Fed showed us all how it is done. It is about time someone lets Trump know that the American people have been bamboozled, that they are waking up and they are getting mad AT HIM, and that if all the fat, cowardly and lazy representatives who get better health insurance than anyone else paid for by the people fail them, they will also be mad at their representatives. No one wants more than 300 million mad people calling the government hotlines.

Keep the pressure up on your legislators! Mine in Florida are all MAGAS and I call them regularly. They are feeling the heat 🔥…..especially my US Rep.

My rep died. But my calls get the same response now as before.

Ballard Graham's avatar

The only question I have Adam, is: Why do voters have to continue to remind their elected officials that they represent us! Not some raving lunatic waging war, tariffs, and other stupid so called “making a deal “? This is nothing but negotiating through dangerous threats that will cost every American!

Michelle Ponkutcat 060's avatar

Adam I'm trying to hold on to your optimism but it's hard, very hard. And I doubt enough congressmen/women will take a stand. They haven't so far.

Adam Kinzinger's avatar

No but getting out there that they have options increases the pressure

Becky Baker's avatar

I worry about that too.

SCOTUS is responsible for this.

All this insanity can be stopped by just a few members of Congress. And, I know everyone says Trump is crazy, but I think he has literally gone around the bend. Read what he said about Greenland in the interview the NYTs did. I wish people would stress - using his own words - how it’s all about him.

Ronin Core's avatar

Trump is just doing more of Putin's bidding. Republicans in Congress must wake up and stop Trump.

I love that you call him psychopath Donald!!
