The Ukrainians are quite inspirational. From the sinking of the Moskva and the "Russian Warship: go f*** yourself," to not just drone innovation but massive drone manufacturing. From "I don't need a ride, I need ammunition," to the latest long-range weapons that the Ukrainians have deployed. Sadly, the Trump administration is actively working to help Putin, which is so disgusting a stain on the US that I can barely type this without shaking in fury and shame. Thank you for calling this out.
Excellent article. It's incredible that while Ukraine has shown the world how to defend itself with modern warfare and technology, the USA military is being led by ignorant, incompetent individuals like Pete Hegseth and his hero, the Orange Felon.
Watching what Ukraine has done, I'm concerned about what Iran will do if attacked. I think they have some nasty surprises in store for Trump and Hegseth.
The interesting thing there, and what sets it apart from Ukraine is the huge amount of rebellion against the oppressive theocracy in power. We need to neutralize the IRGC which could give the people a chance to get back control and internally manifest regime change. I am not knowledgeable about the allegiance of the Iranian army, but they are not directly aligned with the supreme leader and may be rival to the IRGC. Iran is not a simple problem, and a nuclear deal is unlikely to be meaningful.
Thank you for this beautiful testament to the spirit, intelligence, and courage of the Ukrainian people and their dedication to their country. They are an example that we would do well to follow.
I've had Ukrainian refugees stay with me here in France (women and kids only; men cannot travel, are at the front -- as are women, too) and like you am struck by how brave and focused they are. Parents keeping the children safe for now, but keen to get back home... as refugees scattered through war generally are.
Shame on the US government for making them a pawn in Trump's crazy games.
Remember when most of us thought Ukraine was doomed because they had a former comedian as president? The joke was on Russia. It's embarrassing how our current administration treats Zelenskyy. But history will treat him as a hero...and Trump as a fraud.
Thanks Adam: Yes I think Putin is learning a good lesson about warfare and he now knows that the Ukrainians are not going to just capitulate to his pathetic invasion of a sovereign nation. The Ukrainians are one tough vibrant , courageous people. Every member calling out to wash their hands of this deplorable Russian act should be called out and ostracized. Shame on them. Slava Ukraine .
And history will remember a country built on the foundations that they would be there to assist to hold back tyranny and dictatorship, but instead, we failed them and allowed the dictator to take whatever he wanted, free from our interference. We failed to uphold our duty as an alliance to protect the entire world.
Trump will also be remembered in history for this failure.
Thank you for sharing what appears to be a heart felt tribute from a veteran I respect. In my 23 years of service I never heard anything close to the lies and BS being put out by the current Secretary of Defense. Might does NOT make right. Not only will history not forget, we can only hope the future world court War Crimes Trials will bring justice for Ukraine.
TRUTH all the way Adam! And shame on the doubters! And Shame on those who want to "move on"! They should be helped to finish the job and rebuild their country when it's all over. Because by and far they deserve respect and help to do it!
I remember exactly where I was on February 24, 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine. Why? Because I kept hearing “rumors” that this was going to happen. And after what happened in 2014, I figured psychotic Putin wanted the entire country now. I was sitting on my bed and I just thought oh sh** here we go. I remember growing up at the tail end of the Cold War. We all feared the USSR. We grew up watching doomsday movies about nuclear war. Little did we know after the break up of the USSR that one insane man was obsessed with taking back countries that had once been part of the USSR and were now sovereign states. Zelenskyy was and is a true leader and hero. Last year on February 28, when Trump and Vance executed a coordinated verbal beat down on Zelenskyy, I was so humiliated for my country. But I still think Zelenskyy walked out with his dignity and integrity intact.
Apparently those who do not want to support Ukraine, do not understand or do not care what Putin wants to do on a much larger scale. Are politicians that idiotic? Can they not see that Putin is like a dog with a bone? He’s not ever going to stop. He wants far more than just Ukraine. It’s terrifying. But today, we celebrate the ingenuity and genius and heroism of the Ukraine people. Slava Ukraine! 🇺🇦💛💙
If Russia successfully overtakes Ukraine it will be unstoppable, moving on to the Baltics. Who will stand up to this Brutal Bully before the rest of Europe is threatened?
“And yet there are voices now arguing for abandonment. For “moving on.” “
Adam, be specific. Name these pathetic Repuglican traitors to democracy.
Pick up a list of the Rs in Congress. I doubt there are 10 of them who aren't traitors to everything the Grand Old Party once stood for.
There is nothing more despicable than a weasely coward. May their families be cursed to the thousandth generation.
TRAITORS?
NAME THEM?
YES
#1 RUSSIA'S BEST AMERICAN FRIEND AND ASSET?
DONALD JOIHN TRUMP
He is on their payroll. A cheap, fat, orange whore
Thank you for the article, Adam they say Ukraine 🇺🇦 is winning the war. I hope they do! Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦.

When Ukraine put out a postage stamp with that, I immediately bought a commemorative pane of four. Slava Ukraini!
Well said. Glory to the heroes.
Exquisitely captures the resilience and spirit of Ukranians, beautifully written , Adam.
Thank you.

You were certainly prescient on that call. :)

I would rather have Zelenskyy the comedian in charge than Donald the Clown.

Amen!! To abandon Ukraine is to abandon the best part of our ideals that now others are defending much better than us.

Thank you! This puts it all into perfect perspective!

Russia is not ‘unstoppable’ — its economy is nearly bust & they’re importing soldiers from poor countries & telling them lies in order to enlist.
Why did those MILLION poor Russian women bother to give birth & care for their children just to hand them over to Putin & his ‘meat grinder’ warfare?
