They finally came today because the Texas National Guard was supposed to be here but then a Judge issued a temporary order that the National Guard could not be here. Besides the fake news in Chicago, is everyone aware that trump’s social media is disseminating years old pictures of protests in Portland and calling them current. Today’s WSJ has a day by day account of police reports of the ICE facility in Portland and how completely low energy and small it was UNTIL the day Trump called in the troops. Even then it was peaceful just more attendance.
I think we each have to call out every lie as it happens across social media.
Trump is shoving more & more FBI agents into Noem's immigration round-up operations. Beyond the fact that this is part & parcel of the "anti-vermin" crap, it leads to another important question: how much of the FBI's actual important work isn't getting done? Who is tracking down actual terrorists - not Trump's imaginary boogeymen? Who is combating the skyrocketing and very dangerous increase in cyber crime? Who is in charge of combating human trafficking?
The FBI has very real and very important jobs, and it looks like they're being left to gather dust. Some of this is likely to kick us all in the ass, sooner rather than later.
We saw it coming. If a republican congress member has an actual family member or relative get arrested by ice and held illegally, then maybe that person will say something. Right now republicans have made Trump King and he goes to the Supreme Court to get permission. This is the opposite of the constitution.
Instead of military, hire more police that know the community. Help the communities financially. I understand for Trump it's about the undocumented people. But if it is about crime, help communities build a police force, with good people. Not masked ICE.

I called my member of Congress today and my two senators (all Democrats) and asked them to hold fast to their stance that they will not help Republicans out of the government shutdown unless and until the GOP agrees to permanently extend the tax credits for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. You can call the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask for your member of Congress. We also can boycott businesses such as Home Depot that advertise on Fox “News.” Go to protests if you can, or even start your own protest with a few friends/family on a street corner. None of us is powerless. That’s what the fascists want us to think — that we have no power. There are a lot more of us than there are of them, and we keep the economy going by spending money. We can be more careful about the companies we do business with.
