Why would he want to read the Constitution, he's a fascist !!! He loves McDonalds but hates anybody that doesn't agree with him. What a human being! 🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔Eat up you fool!!!
I'm not convinced he actually eats that crap. He'd be dead by now. He makes sure the rubes see in it placed in front of him in a photo op and he'll serve it to suckers and guests but does he eat it?
I'm convinced that the Republican President truly eats that diet. Unfortunately, he has a truly unique metabolism that enables him to survive on that shit. I keep waiting for one last cheeseburger, but it hasn't happened yet.
I think that was the national archivist, who he already fired earlier, unfortunately. Both positions do have strong historically protective functions, which makes his actions even more disturbing.
"Why do we need a Librarian of Congress?" says FLOTUS, "I don't need words I need action! Besides, she only got her job from a woke President who got elected by too many woke people who probably weren't even citizens..."
Here is some background: In 1802, two years after the creation of the Library itself, a congressional act established the Office of the Librarian, and granted the President the power of appointment over the new office. So the Librarian is appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate, just like many other executive officials-- heads of agencies, etc. Because she has what is called a "principal" appointment (as opposed to an inferior position, like the people who work under her), she holds her job "at the pleasure of the president," and can be fired at the will of the President. These kinds of senior (or principal) positions, do not have the kind of job security that lower level positions have.
The Librarian's job is to administer and manage the Library of Congress and its many functions (e.g. copyright registration, preservation of cultural materials, and running the Congressional Research Service). These duties are executive in nature, meaning they involve carrying out laws and managing a large federal institution, not writing laws.
The Librarian of Congress is part of the Executive branch because of the appointment process and the nature of her duties, even though she works closely with and for Congress.
Hell no. We”ll drag him out if we have to. This is not Russia. The guy doesn’t even know what the Declaration of Independence is. He’s an idiot. I really think it’s Stephen Miller pulling the strings.
Trump doesn’t know how to read.
We made it another week Adam. Have a great weekend.
Yep, just re-watched the MI-1 and MI-2 movies this week, we need to get better at catching the mask lines. (I started off kidding with that, but I'm actually not sure now....)
Another sound insight, Adam. It's disturbing enough that a president behaves this way, but it was always expected. I'm much more appauled by the silence and timidity of those around him and those in Congress that do not speak out. What are they thinking?!!
HE HAS NO BUSINESS BEING THE LEADER OF THIS COUNTRY...his intelligence is below average...however he is a great showman and conman and marketeer...which means millions of people are being hoodwinked into believing he can be our savior!!
I for one have no intention of allowing it to happen, I want my future grandchildren to have the same freedoms I grew up with and my adult children to thrive with the same freedom that I have had all of the 63 years.
I am recharged and what did it for me is when I went to the bank to move my income tax return off of my block card to my bank account. I was asked why I did not just use my bank account this year, I explained my concern about DOGE and the teller said Trump would never allow anything happen that would hurt any of us because he is protecting us. I smiled and said well you know how us Seniors are we value our privacy and do not trust new tech. The teller said that she had Seniors upset about DOGE and we’re doing what I did but she just did not understand our reasoning, I smiled and said “we Seniors know our history and have through experience learned that when someone says they are protecting you or saving you , they are actually robbing you blind.” She just sort of stood there sort of dumb founded but I think I got her thinking, maybe.
I have realized that all of the number one issues fall under one big broad digestible title “Corruption “ covers everything. Thank you Adam.
"teller said Trump would never allow anything happen that would hurt any of us because he is protecting us."
As one who have been a lifelong skeptic the naivete of that mindset always mildly astounds me. The briefest read of history destroys any reasonable defense of such a position not to mention the history of Trump, conman extraordinaire.
So very true. I live in a Red State that every county voted for Trump, and where he lost voters was from Seniors on my age group. I try to never mention his name in conversations because there are too many believers. I do however talk about issues or things that happen because eventually they will connect the issues I hope.
I think that is the best way to approach discussions on the various topics otherwise it becomes a I'm right, you're wrong" issue that gets nowhere. I use my having been an Independent for over 50 years to take this non-party view of whatever issue is being discussed and just ask questions. i.e., the deportation issue where there's been no due process. If someone is fine with that then it's a simple step to ask the what other parts of the Constitution they are the OK with ignoring. Proper questioning forces them to look at their beliefs.
What a perfectly succinct summary of what's up. I'm going to keep this one as inspiration to do the same when asked why I take the "position" I do of opposing this president and his administration. You have said it best. I can't trust his choices to surround himself with good people who are truth tellers. I can not. Not when you start with the kind of person he is. The rest is chaos and to be expected. PERIOD.
Trump’s secret arrests and El Salvador deportations occurred on March 15, 2025, just seven weeks after he’d been sworn in for his second term. It is worth noting that Adolf Hitler opened the first NAZI concentration camp at Dachau and began filling it with his political enemies on March 15, 1933, just six weeks after he’d been sworn in as the German Chancellor.
Everyone seems to assume that none of the people Trump ordered swept up from American soil and deported to El Salvador were non-citizens. When challenged on this, Trump’s spunky 27-year old press secretary told reporters that the immigration police who secretly arrested and deported these men were “very professional” had “great evidence and indication” that the Venezuelans sent ‘home’ to El Salvador” (WFT??) were being properly deported. Karoline Leavitt failed to mention that when a federal judge asked to see some of this evidence, he was told by Trump’s “lawyers” to mind his own business. Trump is now ignoring judicial orders to return men illegally sent to El Salvador. Why? Could it be because he is afraid of what these men will disclose? Could we learn that most of the men deported by Kristi Noem’s ICE agents received the same kind of ‘due process’ Noem provided to her puppy Cricket when he got too frisky on a hunting trip, scarring away a duck Noem wanted to kill. Noem showed Cricket what due process meant by blasting him in the face with a shotgun. The intrepid Homeland Security Secretary then took out the family goat because he was acting “ornery” due to Noem’s failure to castrate him. Had Gene Wilder been watching as the fleeing goat was mowed down by Noem’s second shot, he would have remarked “Boy is she strict!”
When the citizens of a democratic nation fail to recognize the all too predictable behavior of a tyrannical regime, they are dooming themselves to become victims of that tyranny.
Growing up in Illinois in the 1950s and 1960s, I had to pass a Constitution Test to graduate from high school. I understand that not all states require it, but it is a shame they don't. Did DT ever have to take that test? I am sure he failed it if he did.
I was talking with a neighbor today about feeling unimportant anymore. Things that once brought me excitement or pride no longer hold meaning. Even though I am a non-religious person, and don’t need to believe in a fictitious being to be a good, honest person, I used to get excited about a new pope; it was part of history. This means nothing now. Thinking about all the famous buildings in Washington, D.C., and all the laws that made our country great would give me a large sense of pride. I don’t feel that anymore. I am now numb. Just standing near a President, or knowing they were visiting a town where I lived, energized me. Like when Obama came to Long Beach, CA. when I used to live there. Not anymore.
I took a tour of the White House when I was eleven years old. Lyndon B. Johnson was President. I was so excited. His helicopter landed at the White House while I was waiting for our tour. Today, this event would make me sick. When I took a tour of the Capitol building, sitting in the balcony seats with my mother's hand over my mouth to shut me up because I saw Robert and Ted Kennedy talking to each other as they held open a set of double doors, and I wanted to yell down to them.
However, one thing that bothers me is my service to this country. Did it mean anything? Did I waste my time? I used to feel immense pride knowing I had served my country, four years in the U.S. Navy on a submarine. I may not have been the greatest sailor that ever lived. I did make mistakes. However, I served for the final two years of the Vietnam War and an additional two years afterward. I didn’t claim bone spurs. I was so proud of myself. But now we have a domestic terrorist living in the White House—a man who makes discouraging remarks about the military and law enforcement, and half this country voted for him. I took an oath the day I enlisted in the Navy to protect this country against foreign and domestic terrorists. I guess I didn’t do my job very well. So was my time in the service to my country a waste of time? Did it mean anything?
I never thought that at 72 years old, my country, which I have always loved, would be in this predicament. I was hoping for a peaceful retirement. I may be a registered Democrat, but I have always been country over party any day of the week. Regardless of who has been in power, both sides have contributed their share of damage to bring us to the current state. But right now, one side is doing all the harm.
Prices are out of control. Where is that red line? When do we say prices can’t go any higher? There has to be a balance in this country where industry works with us, not against us, so we can afford what we need to live, keep everyone employed, and the rich can still be happy. We need to work together as a country. How rich do the rich need to be if they don’t care about the people who made them rich?
But to Adam’s point of being happy, as he stated in his post yesterday. We have to laugh. We must remain happy amidst all this chaos. I have a hard time being happy and laughing as often as possible, but I live every day by telling myself, “The Monsters never win.”
NBC released a story by Ken Dilanian this morning, contained a statement by unnamed government officials who were "struggling to craft a briefing that captures [their boss's] attention."
Of course we remember even from Trump's first term that he was entirely disinterested in reading through briefing materials related to national security, and staff designed pictograms and big captions to try to get through to his infantile mind. But this is not a story about Trump, it's about Kash Patel. Here is the full statement:
"The two current FBI officials said Patel sometimes seemed uninterested in the the [morning briefing] material and his intelligence briefers are struggling to craft a briefing that captures his attention."
Patel, like Trump, now jets off to Ultimate Fighting Championship events on a whim, and people at the Bureau worry that he is not taking the job seriously. This is the price of employment in the regime: a brand of loyalty that eschews anything that smacks of intelligence, and a rabid attraction to feral, violent sports.
My family first came to this country 370 years ago, and the last of my ancestors came in 19th century. Throughout their histories, they fought, and some died, for the freedom to live, work and raise their families in this country. Every generation was instilled with the sacred obligation to ideals set forth in the Constitution.
They worked the land, fished the seas, and plied their trades, practiced their faith and educated their children.
One of my “hobbies“ turned into passion for learning the rich history of our Constitution, from the Federalist Papers to the legislative history and case law history about what brought changes to this inspired document.
The value of that knowledge has, in recent years, been shared with friends and family. It is preceded by the same question - “Wait a minute! Can he, she, they REALLY DO THAT?
This has made me realized that outside my family and friends, there are a hell of a lot of people who DO NOT KNOW what our Constitution says. In Illinois, you could not graduate from high school until you passed the standardized US Constitution test.
Apparently, that does not happen everywhere or anymore. And I think it should. Especially for ANYBODY allowed to:
I moved from Adam's old district to the Independence MO area in 2006. Since then, I have volunteered at the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum. Back in about 2016 or 2017, I was asked to give a tour of the museum to 4 members of the Ukraine Parliament and some history professors from the University of Kansas. I found out that the group was going to only 3 places in the United States. When I asked how it was that they were visiting the Truman Library, they said, "We have determined that all government leaders should study history so that they don't repeat mistakes of the past. We chose the Truman Library because he was not a rich man who might have had corporate conflicts of interest, and he led the nation back to normalcy after being at war."
The tour took over 2 hours because we stopped at several displays to "read the fine print" and go into detail on the situation being displayed. Following the tour, the group spent another 3 hours in a very interesting meeting with the Library director, the chief archivist, the education director, the museum Curator, and myself, a retired School Superintendent and amateur Presidential History buff. The Ukraine members were all under 40 years of age and they pointed out that their constitution was only adopted in 2014. They knew much about democracy and the checks and balances of the 3 branches of government, due process, and the other rights that we have with the constitution and its amendments. We were all very impressed that these people were all very aware of the democratic basics of running a government. As a retired teacher, I knew every thing that we discussed that day were written in history books that are used to teach junior high students about our government. Apparently history books are written above the reading level of our President.
Excellent assessment! We will not let him steal our democracy! People are resisting and the courts have begun to push back as well. There is still time to stop his agenda. If they touch Medicaid, Medicare or Social Security the backlash will be so overwhelming that Rs will not recover. I think I’m going to ever comment I write—Adam, I know it would be an enormous ask of your family, but PLEASE run for president in 2028. I think you could help heal and unite our country.
I can understand Trump's difficulty in reading and understanding the Constitution. A man who never progressed much beyond "Dick and Jane" has to be confused by the eighteenth century language in the Constitution. On top of that, he does not believe in checks and balances (they restrict dictatorial power) and rule of law (a nuisance).
The man who never read the Constitution has just fired the Librarian of Congress, who both guards and shares our national history.
Why would he want to read the Constitution, he's a fascist !!! He loves McDonalds but hates anybody that doesn't agree with him. What a human being! 🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔Eat up you fool!!!
Please...say it louder, John/Bring it On!
Don't know if the cult clan in.the back row took out their ear plugs ..👌
I'm not convinced he actually eats that crap. He'd be dead by now. He makes sure the rubes see in it placed in front of him in a photo op and he'll serve it to suckers and guests but does he eat it?
With his waist size he's not eating salads.
Hahahaha. Nope. Not hitting the gym much either.
Darrell T...??? Have you witnessed The Blob's golf swing lately.?
Looks like a flying hippopotamus out of a Disney cartoon !
Svelt he is not !
I'm convinced that the Republican President truly eats that diet. Unfortunately, he has a truly unique metabolism that enables him to survive on that shit. I keep waiting for one last cheeseburger, but it hasn't happened yet.
and she tried numerous times to get back all the Top Secret documents con man stole and stored in a bathroom
That’s why he fired her. Plus, she had a skin tone problem.
I think that was the national archivist, who he already fired earlier, unfortunately. Both positions do have strong historically protective functions, which makes his actions even more disturbing.
Trump is totally horrid. We have to stop him! He’s ruining everything and everyone!
I doubt Trump has ever read a single book cover to cover let alone the Constitution
You are right to doubt it. Two books he talked about loving in an interview in the late 80s:
1. the most recent novel by Tom Wolfe (he could not remember the name of it)
2. his own book, which he had "just reread" (he didn't write it, and likely did not read it either)
and the one he raved about in 2018: the Bible (but couldn't name a single verse). Old Testament or New: "I love them both"
You know that he "read" the bible when he said "TWO Corinthians". He is quite the bible scholar, just as he is "an expert on cyber", etc.
The man is completely ignorant but his super power is that he can convince others like him he’s brilliant.
"Why do we need a Librarian of Congress?" says FLOTUS, "I don't need words I need action! Besides, she only got her job from a woke President who got elected by too many woke people who probably weren't even citizens..."
Just curious as to why the Librarian of Congress is not an employee of the Legislature Branch and thus, beyond the purview of the Executive?
It's a great question!
Yep!!! And I assume you know what the Librarian of Congress looks like!!!!!

Your description is clear-eyed, and here we are waiting for those to sober up and stand with us.

Trump doesn’t know how to read.
We made it another week Adam. Have a great weekend.
It’s Miller guaranteed
He’s another nazi a****le.
It's Putin disguised as Steven Miller. Those KGB guys 🕵️are really good at it.
Yep, just re-watched the MI-1 and MI-2 movies this week, we need to get better at catching the mask lines. (I started off kidding with that, but I'm actually not sure now....)
We did make it another week, but it is so exhausting.
I agree. Enjoy the weekend and take time for yourself. I am. 💙🇺🇸
Thanks, Sal!
Yes, I agree, Miller is the ghoul running the country.
He's the example of the DEVIL in human form. He's very good at hiding those horns under that mop of hair. 👿
what a visual that is (lol)
I only have one Savior and it sure is hell not tRump.
I for one have no intention of allowing it to happen, I want my future grandchildren to have the same freedoms I grew up with and my adult children to thrive with the same freedom that I have had all of the 63 years.

It would be wise to keep as little money in a account that the government is using for your Direct Deposit. What goes in can come out!!!
Exactly
Good for you.
Yes, ma’am, Joannie!
Let's not forget when Agent Orange was originally challenged to read the Constitution by a Gold Star father! Mr. Khan was way ahead of all of us!

Honeybee, good idea! I’m sending Adam’s post to everyone I know, even though I know my friends, family and contacts are aware.
We need to repeat this message over and over.
Trump and his puppeteers need to be held accountable for the destruction of the Constitution and our United States.
The United States belongs to We the People.
We the People do NOT belong to a dictator.

I think I’m going to ever comment I write—Adam, I know it would be an enormous ask of your family, but PLEASE run for president in 2028. I think you could help heal and unite our country.
NO NEVER!!!
Thank you Adam for hitting the nail on the head.
