Do I feel safe knowing that we have a bunch of soldiers who will have no problem firing their weapons on our legal American citizens who maybe considered the enemy within? The answer is a big NO. Thanks for your videos, Adam! It is very hard not to be discouraged right now. My 93 year old father, who was an Army veteran and served both in Korea and Vietnam, passed away Christmas Day. I will be taking his ashes to El Paso this next week to be buried with military honors at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. I’m so glad he is not alive right now to see what is going on in this country. The military was his family for over 20 years, and he was proud of his service. I’m very worried for my grandchildren, several who have special needs that are being threatened by some of the cuts that are to be voted on. I just pray that more eyes will be opened to all the injustices that are taking place. Keep up the encouragement!

A good video/discussion, Adam. I feel it every day from the moment that I wake up until I fall asleep, dragging me down and sapping my energy. The anxiety from PTSD makes it "physical". Both my nurse and my home health aid repeatedly tell me to avoid this entire administration and current events, but like you, I took the oath multiple times and I cannot turn my back on our nation, even though it makes my health even worse.
My oath tells me to never turn my back on the nation (American People) and all of the good people in the world. Even though the scars and damage and artificial parts remind me of the cost, I cannot look away. It has been decades since I retired, my kids have kids of their own and I even have a great granddaughter now. But my oath has not changed and I pray that those who serve today remember that oath as well.
Adam, something that every American should be reminded of, is that Presidents can and are replaced. Even when one is lost, we replace them and keep moving forward. But freedom and democracy cannot be replaced, at least not easily.
For those who are old enough, back when I was active duty an artist, Michael Jackson, gathered a bunch of others and created the song "We are the world". It went a long way towards uniting the nation and the world as well. For a good cause. Protests in the USA today need a unifying symbol as well. I suggest the American flag and the national anthem. It sends a clear message of unity and who we are, and that WE ARE the nation. Symbols are very important, and for our future, these are the best that I can think of.
