No one with a heart will watch this unnecessary, selfish and greedy documentary. It's embarrassing to have her as a first lady.

She’s the Worst “Lady”.

They edited the parts that included Epstein.

While Minneapolis mourned Alex Pretti, the wanna-be dictator threw a $75 million gala for his mail-order bride from Slovenia, a woman who pocketed $28 million to star in her own vanity documentary, funded by Bezos while he begs for government contracts.

Champagne in the East Room. Bodies in Minneapolis streets. Marie Antoinette energy from a regime that just showed us Argentina’s playbook. Eva Perón at least pretended to care about the poor.

This is what authoritarian kleptocracy looks like: the family gets rich ($1.8 billion in one year), the paramilitaries get immunity, the people get bullets.

The ultimate irony would be if Andrew Lloyd Webber suggested to Trump that they stage Evita at the Kennedy Center.

Pamela Mendenhall-Howard's avatar

Valerie.......I don't think trump would understand the movie, it would be completely over his head! 💙💙💙🇺🇸

Valerie's avatar

Oh I am talking about the stage show. If the descamisados came onstage dressed like J6ers (several dressed like the bare chested guy in the Viking helmet) and the Peron generals dressed like ICE agents and the female star sang “Don’t Cry For Me Minnesota….” Well maybe he’d get the meaning

Pamela Mendenhall-Howard's avatar

Valerie.......LOL 😂😂😂

Love the photo! It speaks loudly.

This is a family of colassal grifters. They care nothing about anyone else except enriching themselves. How 77M people in this country voted against their own self interests is beyond my logic.

I believe we have to accept that a large number of Americans will fall for any lie if it's delivered by a demagogue. Too many do not have the skills or the tools to sort fact from fiction. For example Trump's claimed he would bring lower prices. He couldn't, and neither could anyone else short of a recession. The amazing thing is that Trump gets away with lies, then blames someone or something else. As the man himself said, "I take no responsibility!" We let him get away with it!

Mari Wilson's avatar

Supposed.y. Elon Muskolini stole it for him. Rump could NOT afford to lose, the alternative was prison. He even bragged about it for crying out loud.

Joe Witkowski's avatar

It’s called composite and abject ignorance, toxic selfishness, and stupidity concentrated in God’s defect bin.

Hale Irwin's avatar

Anyone who goes to that movie is complicit by supporting the pedophile dictator

BOYCOTT!

Marietta's avatar

My sentiments exactly! Every venue should have peaceful protestors voicing their thoughts on how the Trump family continues to reap in millions of dollars while Americans struggle to make ends meet. Such a diabolic travesty of morality.

Charles's avatar

I could not see that movie. I would be looking for the bathroom by the end of its first quarter. Or, are theaters now providing barf bags at every seat like an airplane?

Mari Wilson's avatar

Seems somehow fitting though, too doesn’t it?

The Republicans are to blame for all of this. They protect him. They could have united to impeach him after Jan 6, but they shamed themselves by preventing a conviction. Congress could prevent him from many actions now, but they are a dishonorable clique who have no courage. The courts are overwhelmed with managing all of the lawsuits and legal maneuvers. I hope we can survive through the November elections.

Gigi's avatar

Be sure to contact Senators and ask that they cut the budget for Ice even if it means another shutdown.

RRiveter's avatar

Total waste of time and energy. They don't give a flying flip about what any American has to say. I live in a Red state and I can assure you that our "leaders" are ignoring phone calls, letters, emails, etc. They simply do not give one shit. They're safe with their over blown salaries, fancy offices, call girls, fancy hotel suites, government charge cards, which we pay for, and their ability to fly on any commercial flight business/first class with a contingent of Secret Service. Do you really think contacting Senators makes any difference at all, no matter the party? It does not.

Amy A.'s avatar

I disagree even though I admit it often feels like one is screaming into the void, especially with maga representatives like I have. But I think it’s actually just as bad to say nothing to them at all, so that they think everyone agrees with what they’re doing. Why make their jobs easier? And it only takes a few minutes.

Gigi's avatar

Maybe you should consider moving out of your red state or even better, helping it go blue.

RRiveter's avatar

I have been pondering whether your comment is truly serious or snarky. I tend to think the latter. I really don't owe you any explanation as to why I live where I live, but suffice it to say that moving out of the state I've lived in for 40 years (not born in, but lived in), is my status for now for a variety of reasons, none of which I wish to share with you. Helping it go blue? Now there's a thought. Maybe you could direct me and mine in that endeavor, in a state that has been red for decades. Just please consider making comments that make sense, or don't comment at all.

John Kloc's avatar

I hope we have November elections.

Shelley Riskin's avatar

John Kloc, I don't think that hoping is enough. We have to start NOW to be sure that these Nazi thugs meet resistance during the primaries, that we contact our electeds regularly, urging them to defund ICE and take other actions against the regime. We need to continue going to rallies, registering voters, etc---whatever we can do! Our electeds in Illinois, such as Governor Pritzker and our attorney general, are already planning with other governors, AGs, and so on, for when ICE comes back. I thank them weekly (along with our Senators and my House representative) and state my particular issues via email and to their local offices (easier to get to an actual person there.) In addition to Adam, I also subscribe to Simon Rosenberg's Hopium ("Hope With a Plan") Chronicles. He gives great overviews from a long, knowledgeable political perspective, with daily concrete actions we can take, from big to small. Adam, Simon, Jen Rubin's Contrarian, and Heather Cox Richardson are my go-to newsletters that pull me from despair and hopelessness--which the evil regime wants--to purpose and action!

John Kloc's avatar

Already use House.gov and Senate.gov frequently. Not familiar with the media recommendations but will check them out. It’s important to contact your elected representatives, both federal, state, and local so they can gauge public sentiment. They want to keep their jobs and if they sense a shift in their constituency they will respond if it’s significant enough.

Shelley Riskin's avatar

Simon from Hopium gives me focus about actions to take and where best to donate; Kinzinger was in the military, a Never Trumper who was the only other Republican on the Jan. 6 committee (along with the now silent Liz Cheney) and also has military background to explain what ICE/National Guard, etc; can and can't do, what they're trained for (or not) etc; Jen Rubin of the Contrarian quit the Washington Post to go onto Substack and has partnered with Norm Eisen to bring lawsuits; and Heather Cox Richardon brings a wonderful historical approach, connecting it to what's going on now.

Bridget Dickerson's avatar

We don't have a government at the present time. We have absolutely no check on the Executive Branch. Our Congress has completely failed us. They have the power to serve as that check and they refuse. It's absolutely disgraceful. Why some Americans are fine with giving up state's rights and the 2nd amendment, as well as allowing a president to double his wealth since the election in November 2024 is mindboggling. They have no true values or beliefs and bend themselves to defend the indefensible.

Kat Hudy's avatar

You should correct it to the Republican Congress. Just like the Six Right Leaning Justices on the Supreme Court. Most Democrats in Congress are trying to fight the grift & violence of Trump and his corrupt minions and crooked & despicable friends.

RRiveter's avatar

Some Dems are, you are right, and some are not. Some Repubs are, most are not. It's the state of the Union now. Congress has buried its responsibilities to the Constitution, and to the people who put them in their posh living situation. We have no functioning government, except for the WH grifters, the lying SCOTUS gang, and the judiciary, who certainly try, but are usually ignored.

Nancy's avatar

I read someone who said, making the point that DJT is not to blame for all of this: Monsters will be monsters. They can't help themselves. Their followers, however, have a choice. We know who the monster is!

Jacquelyn Wolverton's avatar

I would be foolish to imagine for one minute that there would be one iota of empathy. Narcissists do not work that way.

Bovino under the bus is all we are gonna get. And he still has a job. Sorry California.

We MUST keep the pedal to the metal. You have seen that made traction.

We cannot stop or turn back now.

Thanks Adam. Great article.

Dede's avatar

If Bovino was exhibiting this cruelty openly in MN, imagine what he does in the desert in CA.

Bridget Dickerson's avatar

The nightmarish things they do at the border are beyond our comprehension. Church groups are starting to go down there and see that history. There are memorials all around (on the Mexican side of the fence) that show tribute to children shot by border patrol through gates on the fence. They take diabetes medicine from people coming through with paperwork and dump it out. They take their water bottles. It's so bad.

Dede's avatar

This is not what border security should be. We have to demand immigration reform.

What kind of monsters are these people?

REAL LIFE ONES!!!

Valerie's avatar

Minnesotans are being celebrated as the symbols of the “real” America now. I listened to an interview with a man running for Joni Ernst’s Senate seat in Iowa, Josh Turek. He outlined how every sector in Iowa is hurting and hurting badly. And yet last night even as he admitted he’d never “been so cash poor in all his life” a farmer who headed to Des Moines to listen to Trump said he still supported him “for the most part.”

And why? Probably because, as I hear over and over again, that farmer’s been a Republican all his life, it’s in his DNA. It really has nothing to do with reality. (So too probably is lifelong Democrat support.) And so we can talk until we are blue in the face about what the Republican Party has become under Trump and people will still vote red. We saw that before the 2024 election when Trump and Vance said truly evil, awful things. They voted for him (we think at least—someday we may find out that Musk did more than just hand out million dollar checks.)

They’ll vote for him even if it means they’re voting for the very excesses that the revolutionaries fought against. In the US in 1776 and in France in 1789. Let them eat cake indeed, even when the flour is mixed with blood.

As one of thsose always voted Repulican. I thank Trump for opening my eyes. I thank Trump for revealing to me ma y of my friends and neighbors. I thank Trump for revealing to me that the Christians in our country sold their souls to the devil himself. A good read is the "Republican Gomorrah: Inside the Movement that Shattered the Party

Book by Max Blumenthal". This didnt start with Trump. But it took them 50 years to finally find a politician who would do their bidding. Many who did not get elected over the years refused their values.

I was a follower of James Dobson and his team of evangelist teaching faith and family . It was not as harmless as it appears. Do your research read many books. C S Lewis does a great job writing about character in his series of Mere Christianity, The Problem with Pain, etc... 5 books. "Once someone reveals their character and you still are associated with them ... the narcissist has told you who he is. Now he has no guilt because you agreed to the contract.

Valerie's avatar

Another good book is The False White Gospel by Jim Wallis. I am so glad you saw the true light

Cat Hufnagle's avatar

PS. I haven't voted Repulican since 2016.

Valerie's avatar

My husband hasn’t voted Republican since 2012 😏 we hadn’t been married long enough at that point

Got it. In my reading library. Thank you

Cancelled Apple TV in protest, never did Amazon.

Charlie's avatar

Good for you, Annemarie!

We need more people to do this.

I just read that UPS is laying off some people because deliveries from Amazon are falling.

RRiveter's avatar

Nice thought, but question its accuracy. Amazon falling off? Think not. if UPS is laying off people, that's an internal position, due to competition from other shippers, such as Amazon, DHS, Fedex.

Charlie's avatar

Rats. You're probably correct--just read it the way I wanted it to be.

Dan Cobb's avatar

What a disgrace! Many magas may be cheering him on, but they remain in his favor as long as they're useful. As Martin Nielmoller said, "...Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me."

John Kloc's avatar

After January 6 Kevin McCarthy went to Mar-a-Lago and kissed Trump’s a… ring. As a reward ole Kev got tossed under the bus. People are useful to Trump until they aren’t. Where is ole Kev anyway?

She is no lady, never mind “First Lady”. She is a porn model, and her part and her disgusting husband’s part in the whole Epstein business will hopefully one day be revealed. They all belong in a prison cell.

Beverly VanLandingham's avatar

This is disgusting, despicable, frightening……someone give me some more words! It is beyond belief this is happening in our country. Let’s keep fighting, any way we can.

Cat Hufnagle's avatar

Melanie was an Epstein girl. Let them eat cake. I have had that theme in my head for days. Golden ballroom, expensive parties and the golden arc de McDonald's. As all dictators have done they attempt to legitimize their sex traffic wives into high society. No kings and no excuses you cannot blame others for your own decisions. Let the Trumps dig their own ruin.

Cat Hufnagle's avatar

Just heartbroken that our country is being torn apart by this conman. Wake up America we have armed government thugs roaming our streets killing Americans. People are being taken off our streets and disappear. So proud of my Minneapolis cousins and how they have drawn a line in the sand and said "ENOUGH ". Minnesota nice has a new meaning. They are neighborly and the polar opposite of the MAGA cult.

Jason Merchey's avatar

You are right to point out this glaring and awesome contradiction. This is truly the worst Administration we've ever had.

I'm just sorry that Republicans ushered him into office, and then put up with all this shit, and protect him. It is to their everlasting shame.

Jeanette's avatar

This piece was SO well written!! Heartbreaking and honest.

David Holst-Grubbe's avatar

Look at “Decoding FOX News” on Substack to learn what MAGA is hearing. And if you want to strategically change the playing field to defeat and de-fund FOX, reach out to me Adam. It’s the biggest difference we can make!

How do we boycott Apple publicly. I was a VERY loyal Apple supporter have mourned and missed Steve Jobs but never more than now. Tim Cook needs to GO. Disgusted! Will not buy or support Apple in any way going forward.
