What is the best way to put more pressure on Republican Senators/Reps to begin showing some courage and standing up to Trump? How do we make it known that they're not going to get their seats back if they keep up the capitulation with Trump?

How can we call them out nationally, for example, when we have protests?

Jill B.'s avatar

Add in the spineless Democrat Senators and Representatives who capitulate to Trump, as well.

Nana's avatar

I don’t think Democrats are Spineless we have stay together not attacking Democrats. These dems your talking know the inside and outs of Congress. When we don’t have the Majority it’s damn hard to much so younger Dem are getting out there mostly with aid of Older Gen to guide them ex AOC & SANDERS the others are helping in Lawsuits behind ACLU INVISIBLE. THATS HOW TO get that to stop. I do understand your frustration believe me. Remember one thing about DJT HE HATES BEING LAUGHED AT AND DISLIKED. THERE ARE HIS WEAK POINTS. MORE PROTESTING AND LOW POLLS KILLS HIM.

NOW HE AFRAID SOMEONE WILL KILL HIM WHY DOESNT GO MUCH. WE SHOULD BE SO LUCKY. LOL SORRY SICK HUMOR.

MY CAR BROKE DOWN ON MY WAY TO PROTEST. I SO ANGRY. I LIVE A BIT OR I WOULDVE WALKED.

Jill B.'s avatar

I get some of what you’re saying, but I’m confused with much of it, as well.

Two things I want to clarify.

1. May statement of spineless Democrats did not imply ALL the Democrats of Congress are spineless. I’m calling out the ones who are, example: Chuck Shumer, for one and there are others who would rather be complicit than to speak out against the Unhinged madman.

And 2. Senator Bernie Sanders is not a Democrat. He’s an Independent, but knows a fascist regime when he sees one and thankfully he leans to the left and knows what is awful for this country. And THIS IS WORSE than awful.

I’m sorry that you had car problems yesterday. I hope you were able to get them resolved.

Kathy Cook's avatar

I think every district in the country needs to come together and protest at these Republican Senator/ Representatives offices (larger protests, not just a couple people) or the Capitol with the signs geared toward the spineless Republicans to show them how bad it is and that we are coming after them on Election Day.

Can members of the Trump administration be arrested by U.S. Marshals/other mechanisms if they are found to be in contempt of court in regard to continuing to defy federal/Supreme Court?

jane's avatar

Thanks for asking this. Aren't they already in contempt for ignoring the judge trying to determine who is responsible for authorizing the plane to take off, and then not turning around around the plane? The attorneys still have not provided an answer, and the administration has still not obeyed SCOTUS's order to facilitate bringing back Abrego Garcia.

Russ's avatar

I would assume that also applies to state and local authorities. The arrest of a judge in Wisconsin was a warning sign. Can, for example, ICE agents be arrested for incarceration of US citizens. This is tantamount to false arrest because it is without probable cause or a warrant from a judge. It is also makes those making the arrest subject to civil lawsuits under the claim of violating their protected constitutional rights

SVM's avatar

Yes- please address this.

Susan Falzo's avatar

But won’t Pam Bondi not allow the arrests?

Eric's avatar

What do you think of Ukraine‘s mineral deal with the US? What does it entail?

John/ Bring It On 🤠🌵🪖's avatar

The tyrant said he wants to replace Veterans Day, which Congress made a federal holiday in 1954, and to go back to celebrating the end of World War I on Nov. 11 instead. I'm a Vietnam Vet, this is OUTRAGEOUS!!!😡🤬😡🤬 What do you think?

Global boycotts of US products is going to be the next big problem facing Americans thanks to the tyrant🤡 !!! Besides higher prices and shortages.

Russ's avatar

Me too. When I returned, I was spit on and called a war monger. I was turned down for a job I was highly qualified for because I had served in combat in Vietnam, The sting is still there at 85 years old.

John/ Bring It On 🤠🌵🪖's avatar

Here's some good news,

Yesterdays Headline :"White House Tanks Trump’s Big Idea to Rename Veterans Day".

Good idea on his part, is he afraid of the losers and suckers coming after him? He probably should still be afraid!!!!

Diane1's avatar

That was awful! I know the protests were about not having our young men to go fight a senseless war but to take it out on those who bravely went was a stain on America. I was happy when they finally acknowledge the Nam war vets years later but it took far too long.

Catherine Cherry's avatar

I have a sinking feeling this is going to end up as a double cross. Like Trump might say "you need to get Russia off the land we want to dig the minerals for, and if you can't, we'll recognise it as Russian and make a deal with them instead". Or something equally as impossible and backstabby.

Wesley Hale's avatar

I was thinking something similar, but he will not be able to get a favorable deal with Putin like he did with Ukraine. I will also add that it is disgusting that Trump is using these extortion tactics on a country. especially one which is in our best interest to help. and doing in the name of the american people, it is a stain upon our national honor.

Beverly Smiles ga's avatar

I really don’t get this— why does US have any, real power over what happens in Ukraine— except to aid or not??

Wesley Hale's avatar

Maybe....make that most likely because Trump stands to gain financially from the deal. Every criminal and every country knows that if they want a special favor from the US all they have to do is pay off Trump. DJT does not care about the country, he only cares about how much money he can make abusing the office of the President. Trump is Putins secret weapon to destroy America and it is working. Every road leads back to Russia. Trumps first wifes father was A Czech (Communist era) Secret Agent who was subserviant to the KGB. The Trump Tower Meeting, Miss Universe Pagent. Mueller Report. Helsinki speech, 3/4 of his Cabinet with Kremlin connections/ Stop supporting Ukraine on day1. I mean it is blatantly obvious he that he in in cohoots with Putin it does not take a genius to figure that out. What I want to know is why wasnt he tried for TREASON?!! Because that is his most serious crime!

Pat in AZ's avatar

I had a feeling Trump would go to Ukraine for the minerals now that he's pissed off China. He'd better include aid to Ukraine in the deal.

JULIA PETERS's avatar

Trump will not deliver on what was promised. I realize Ukraine has to act in good faith but I wouldn’t trust ANY deal that Trump is involved in. His record shows how many people he’s cheated and lied to. He’ll take the minerals, not pay Ukraine and give those minerals to Putin

Susan Falzo's avatar

I agree. This is so horrible. Why would anyone trust Trump?

LeftCoastie's avatar

What needs to happen for Trump’s declining cognitive abilities to be addressed?

Adam Kinzinger's avatar

Jesus and miracles! Ok I’ll discuss

LeftCoastie's avatar

I keep praying for both Jesus … AND a miracle! 😉 Thank you!

Dan Kane's avatar

Trump has special needs. Very, very special needs.

Russ's avatar

That made me laugh very hard.

Diane1's avatar

Here's a miracle- Democrats win Senate and House in 2026! That will address those cognitive declines and impeach and remove trump. 3rd times the charm.

Jill B.'s avatar

His cognitive ability was questionable at birth!!!

LeftCoastie's avatar

Probably somewhat attributable to Fred. Seriously — a millionaire at 8? ‘Twas a gold spoon, not silver! 😂

Wesley Hale's avatar

I know there is a mechanism for this, but I believe the threshold for congress removing him for such reasons is pretty high. It has never been done before and he has enough support in congress to block that from happening even if he got much worse.

Jean Haynes's avatar

That was my question. I'm not sure anything he does would result in his cognitive abilities being addressed based on his past history. That commencement address he gave at the University of Alabama yesterday was weird and embarrassing. Also, as uncoordinated as I am, I wouldn't try to walk an umbrella through a narrow rectangular door on a plane. 🙄🫣 Jesus.

At what point do we see lawyers getting disbarred for trotting out ridiculous, lawless, unconstitutional stances in federal courts?

Ellen Feinberg's avatar

Are you out of politics for good (holding an office) or will you reconsider based on where the country is in a few years?

I find it strange that you don't seem to recognize that Reagan started the fall of the middle class with his trickle down BS.

Interested in how you will respond to o that.

thanks

Ken

VickijH78's avatar

I have had that question for Adam too. Reagan was a top down leader whereas the country needs leadership at all levels. We also need community building. Adam. Please address this issue.

Christine Anderson's avatar

I was also wondering his thoughts on that. I agree the removal of fairness doctrine led to Faux News. Led to dumbing of America. Plus he did nothing re. Aids epidemic

WayneNW's avatar

While Reagan and cohorts called it Trickle Down, it was always really Trickle ON.

Christine Anderson's avatar

That why they call us peons. Al w says getting peed on.

ClaireG's avatar

that was my question as well, Ken.

Mari Wilson's avatar

Exactly. He is an inspired by Ronnie Republican. I would like him to explain how he can still feel the same way about him knowing all that he set in motion. Not that it's 100% Reagan's fault. We had two Dem Presidents in there who were way too corporate & didn't do anything really to stop this madness.

Valerie Moule's avatar

Do you think one reason Trump hasn’t fired Hegseth is because he is the only person ridiculous enough to approve the $92M military parade for Trump’s birthday?

Mari Wilson's avatar

That is not ACTUALLY going to happen is it?!?

Kathie Brown's avatar

I just did a quick search. Most current reliable sources use the word "possible" to describe the parade.

Diane1's avatar

I think it will as it's disguised as a celebration for the Army's milestone.

Mari Wilson's avatar

Sadly I think you're right. I wonder hope long it will take to recover from this Trump Corrupt Crime Regime.

Diane1's avatar

The next day of action is on June 14th :)

Wesley Hale's avatar

I think it is more about loyalty (to trump not the nation) than competency. Most of his cabinet members are unqualified for their positions but loyal to Trump and as long as they pay homage to their glorious leader... Also, it pisses off his political opponents and it does incredible damage to the institutions which is what he and the rest of Putins assets working in the cabinet actually want.

Rodgers's avatar

He hasn’t fired Hegseth because keeping him around lets him show his contempt for our government — turning it into a reality TV show for the sake of drama.

Mary D's avatar

Why hasn’t the AG among others not have been arrested yet for being in contempt of court? I’m completely outraged by this lack of accountability .

Mari Wilson's avatar

Who do you think is gonna arrest the Justice Department? The Justice Department??

Mary D's avatar

Exactly my point. I’m kind of hoping there are some type of guardrails for this scenario.

Patricia Mei's avatar

They’ve all been fired!

Diane1's avatar

that's why they say we are basically in a Constitutional Crisis.

Kathy Cook's avatar

All guardrails have been thrown to the wind!

Mari Wilson's avatar

There aren't. People used to obey the constraints of the laws.

Mary D's avatar

Well we know that guardrail went out the window the day he was sworn into office. I’m just thinking there has to be something we can do and be able to bypass the GOP puppet’s

Anyone can file a formal complaint against an attorney. If the attorney is licensed in Florida (I believe that she is), the complaint would typically be submitted to the Florida Bar. When a complaint is deemed credible (such as strong allegations of unlawful or unethical conduct), the Florida Bar’s disciplinary counsel is obligated to initiate an investigation. Depending on the findings, the attorney may face disciplinary actions, up to and including disbarment. What is likely to hinder many from doing so is that she is the AG and hell-bent on retaliation. Anonymous complaints rarely progress through the system.

Mary D's avatar

Well that’s something but as you’re saying they rarely progress through the system. So we can try by contacting the the Florida bar association?

SCS's avatar

When one's name is attached to the complaint, the Bar is obligated to look into the complaint. It is the anonymous complaint that is difficult to get motion on unless there are a ton of anonymous complaints against a licensed attorney (hmmm... that's an option). We are moving into a time where being paranoid is becoming a realistic reaction to maintaining your rights as a US citizen.

Mary D's avatar

Thank you for the great information! I can do this and I’m definitely not paranoid about signing my name to it. Thanks again

Robin Eaton's avatar

I’ve been meaning to write to you with this question. I’m wondering how elections can be secure and how the votes will be accurately counted and will electors honestly record the accurate vote count. We all know that Trump tried the fake elector scheme in 2020 and now he has so much more power, so I am very concerned about 2026 and 2028.

KC Compton's avatar

He also has Elon Musk and Starlink, which some of the 2024 voting booths were plugged into. I don't want either anywhere close to our election process.

I vote we go back to paper ballots and human counters, like our neighbors to the north.

Cathy Zadoretzky's avatar

I am one of many people I know who believe the 2024 election was legal but unfair because of oppressive voting legislation in many states. I hope the Democratic Party has a plan to repair the damage. Does it? Certainly American voters are aware and are protesting -- or not enough?

Wesley Hale's avatar

I think most people have legitimate concerns about the 26 Midterms. With Trump bleeding support in the polls and getting worse by the day., they will have to pull something in order not to lose congress. And if he loses congress his tyranny will be in serious jeopardy so he has to do something to prevent elections which insurrestion act/martial law becomes the only avenue open for him to remain in full control.

Diane1's avatar

he could say we are in an emergency to delay elections. he brought that out in 2020 using the Pandemic as an excuse. That's when the Democrats pushed back and went hardcore for mail in ballots and other ways to facilitate the election. Then we saw how he reverted to plan B- stop the steal.

Joan Donaldson's avatar

I am concerned that we will not be allowed to vote or the process will be so corrupt that our votes do not really count.

How can we compel Chuck Schumer to selflessly pass the torch? It's time to get new blood in leadership.

Nancy Burgland's avatar

Is there anything being planned or happening "behind the scenes" by our politicians to address the current administration? This has been on my mind for awhile✌🏼

Kathy Davis's avatar

Do you think GOP reps will ever put a stop to this? Or are they going down with the ship?

Kathie Brown's avatar

Yes. I'd like to add to this question with, "What would it take" for GOP reps to stop this? What public, international, financial, judicial, legislative, etc. actions.

Loni Ison's avatar

only protection against permanent fascism. What are the odds it will protect us?

Patricia Mei's avatar

And, will the justices keep their oaths? Giving Trump immunity when they did put him into office!

The SCOTUS 6 need to be removed from their seats!

They haven't so far. And they do not have many enforcement mechanisms other than contempt and the mistaken belief that our leaders will adhere to the rule of law
