Thank you, once again. I know we have said this before, but 2024 is THE most important to get out and vote. Do not assume Biden will win, go to the polls and vote 💙 We can not have Trump in office again, period. We also need to fight back against Trumpism and get the country back on track. We are a nation of great people that deserve better than what we are dealing with, as far as the GOP goes. It’s disgraceful.

Keep on pushing. I’m glad Nikki Haley is persevering. Eliminating the Trump cult would be wonderful but it is difficult to see a resurgence of the saner version of the GOP in the near future. Establishing two workable parties is essential to preserve democracy.

I DO NOT like NiKKKi Hellish and I would not welcome a Hellish presidency. But just about anyone and anything is better than the Grotesque Gold-toned Grifter™. But people, FFS, vote 💙 in November!

Will our country ever be normal again? Vote country over party. We need to pull together and save the country from those bent on destroying it.

When it was 6 - 0 Nikki should have demanded they stop counting.

Ha! Trump sounded off like a 5th grader saying if anyone contributed to Nikki “birdbrain” Haley’s campaign, they would be permanently barred from MAGA-I thought fine with me, so donated to her campaign-I admire her for hanging in against that classless idiot, Trump!

Bloviating Ignoramus's avatar

What Nikki should be saying.

"He thinks E Jean is Marla. He thinks I'm Pelosi. And I'm the birdbrain."

Once again, agree with you Adam. We must not let Trump run for ANY office ever again!!!

Nikki Haley should campaign by clearly describing to her listeners what Trump is. Liar, thief, rapist, insurrectionist, racist and on and on. Make all Republican voters acknowledge what kind of trash they are supporting when they give Trump their vote. And if this gives her any kind of traction doubledown on it and stand back because Trump is going to explode and gore will be everywhere.

Haley is still in the game. Everyone else is on the sideline. Go, Nikki, Go!!!

Here's the thing: Either the Mango Menace wins or he will claim that he won. Even if he wins, he will claim that the "other side cheated" to make it close (see, eg., 2016). If he loses, all bets are off. We will unfortunately, and horrifyingly, likely see civil disobedience which will make the 1/6 insurrection look like a cocktail party.

Am I scared? Damned right I am.......................

I can’t wait until Haley beats him in one primary and he will start claiming rigged elections. Will be fun to watch. I’ve never disliked another human on this earth as much as I dislike Trump.

Thank you Adam for staying resolute to your beliefs.

He's already claiming, as in the 2020 election, that the only way he can lose is if the Democrats cheat. He said it the other night at one of his clown shows. He started late this time around. Last election he started two years before and just pounded that accusation until it became "truth" to the cult. Hold on to your hats.

Im scared too. Vote 💙 in November.

While I TOTALLY agree with your comment, I didn't click 'Like' because I do not like to experience the scared feeling that you and I share.

Adam

God bless you always for never ever giving up hope.

No matter how many trump and trumpettes there are... the ideology should be banned from government in that it's in connection with the insurrection and violence.

The present GOP can't survive we can't let it!

I share your substack with everyone I know ro get the word out

Wr must NEVER EVER give up

Even if God forbid the worst outcome happens

We must NEVER GIVE UP

It will take a long time. No one seems to talk about the fact that it is a woman left standing to take on the monster that is Trump. I’m proud of Nikki Haley. He tries to shame & embarrass her & she keeps smiling & focusing on what matters.

Nikki Haley is sure to be a thorn in trump’s side, which he deserves. I think he thought the she would just sulk away after New Hampshire. I still wouldn’t vote for her because of her declaration of pardoning trump if she’s elected president. That act would not bring the country back together. He needs to held accountable, period.

I still hold out hope that the Supreme Court might actually take the case that he should not be on the ballot in any state, which I firmly believe he should not. I read an excellent opinion piece in Politico yesterday by Bruce Ackerman, Sterling Professor of law and political science at Yale about this. He states, “Supreme Court weighs whether to disqualify Donald Trump from 2024 elections...their own constitutional legitimacy...hangs in the balance.” The courts originalist principles, which the three Trump appoint judges say they adhere to, actually strengthen American democracy. He posits that the Supreme Court inevitably will decide that Trump is disqualified from running for office again. He believes if they do not rule to keep him off the ballot, they risk losing legitimacy and authority in the country much like the “courts” (in name only) one would see in a banana republic. Lord, we can’t have devolved that far as a country.

Nikki Haley still holding fundraisers!

Apparently some Billionaires.....think she has a chance

if Trump gets convicted !

Leave it to you to find true north, Adam. Per you, "The one bright spot? If most of the 43.2 percent who went for Haley decide they have to vote for anyone but Trump in November, President Biden’s chance for a second term will rise. A twice-defeated Trump would then leave a vacuum in the place that the old-fashioned GOP once occupied."

Let's focus our energy on moving all those anyone but Trump folks to Biden. Game on.

It seems the voting numbers so far, have been a low turnout. Yes, MAGA voted in the majority but what about all the ones who weren't excited enough to turnout? All the other candidates where affiliated with trump in the past except for Asa Hutchinson and I didn't feel like I could trust any of them, including Chris Christie. I think until Republicans get an Adam Kinzinger to run, it's going to be another trump loss😊. As I've said before, I pray when the majority of Americans go into the November voting booth, they will NOT be able to vote trump and democracy will prevail! I recommend if you have not joined in on a Campfire and breakouts(even just to listen), do so!! I always come away feeling not so alone and there's hope!!

Absolutely right, once again Adam. I wonder though, if the soul of the Republican Party is beyond salvation? I for one, have high hopes that Jack Smith will come through with conviction. But will even that make a difference? Seems the genie is out of the bottle and even if Trump goes down, which copycat will fill the vacuum? It may sound like I’m hopeless...I’m not. I believe in our beautiful country and a healthy, vigorous 2 party system where each party complements the other. Where healthy, respectful debate reins and we all firmly remember that We’re all on the same Team USA. But I worry it’s going to have to get even uglier before it gets better. If you haven’t already done it, I highly recommend watching UNFIT on Prime (I think Prime). We can’t let history repeat itself. Trump is a classic demagogue. I’m afraid Niki’s meager efforts at setting herself apart from Tiny Don are too little too late. She always seemed to me to be hedging her bets...just in case there was a position waiting for her in a Trump administration again. But where there’s life there’s hope.

If she drops out before trump gets the total number of delegates he needs to win the nomination, aren't those of us who haven't yet had a chance to vote in Republican primaries in effect disenfranchised?
