This is why Trump needs to be IMPEACHED!!!! ASAP!!! We all recognize this. Why doesn’t Congress???

Holding it all hostage for the save act. We do not negotiate with terrorists..Least I hope not.

Trump has been a criminal all of his miserable life. Everything he does is with criminal intent. If he is breathing he is lying.

There are not enough books in existence to document the totality of Trump's criminal actions. Retribution is coming for the American people and all of the Epstein Class and Trump lackeys will suffer.

He blew up the bipartisan immigration bill

Elizjteacher's avatar

Because it would help people Trump doesn’t give a shit about…

Kate Petrella's avatar

And because he wanted to run on the immigration issue and be able to continually blame Biden for the problems.

crazy cat lady's avatar

well, to be fair, trump doesn't care at all about anybody who isn't himself.

Kay G's avatar

Unfortunately - the captured media failed to cover Trump’s SABOTAGING the Bipartisan Immigration bill in January 2024. I couldn’t believe it! We were stuck hearing all the complaints about immigration when it was Trump acting as a “shadow President” and preventing those bipartisan efforts to reform immigration from being implemented for a year.

Forgot about that. Thank you for the very appropriate reminder! ;-)

Widdle Donnie Butthurt angwy. Him vewy vewy angwy. Him want HIS widdle bill passed, not this stuff that helps people. He thinks he'll force them to do what he wants. Poor Donnie ain't gonna get diddly.

Is there a reason the reflecting pool isn't just being drained?

I'm thinking it would get rid of at least 75% of the algae and allow easier removal of the remaining problems. The absence of water would also stop ducks from dying, allow for the shedding blue paint to be thrown out, and the government to get it fixed properly this time? WTH?

I’d love to get a gander at the bottom where his motorcade drove over it. I’m guessing there is lots of damage. That was never meant to be a load-bearing surface.

Tim_TEC's avatar

Trump had his motorcade drive over it, because Trump is too lazy to get out of the car and take a short stroll around the area.

He does the same thing on the golf course. He drives his cart on the greens in order to not walk to his ball.

tRump is plain and simply a WPOS!

This Government? Fix Something Right, Incapable and incompetent!

naejsllim's avatar

You're absolutely right‼️ What was I thinking⁉️. 😂😂😂

I was making suggestions based on the job being completed by a truthful and competent company that was chosen by providing a reasonable, legitimate bid. A company whose employees who are well trained professionals who take pride in their efforts while working for the US government and its taxpayers.

Draining is what Trump is now calling for. Again.

When will this all come to a head? Is November even soon enough? I'm a totally disabled 78-year old guy and I feel ready to explode. Not because I am personally affected by what is happening, at least for now, taxes aside, but because of what is happening across the board, disempowering, impoverishing, killing literally millions of people here and abroad, including a lot of MAGAtarians. I lack the energy to do much more than sit at my computer most days. But a lot of people younger, more fit, more oppressed, angrier, must be reaching the boiling point.

Things are ugly now. I fear they are going to get far uglier far sooner than I expected. Will we emerge from the chaos better? It is very hard to be optimistic. But that is why Adam, Thom Hartmann, so many others on the Bulwark and in other Substack posts are needed. They are clarion calls--if enough people even get exposed to them.

We must keep fighting. As Churchill proclaimed, never surrender!

Excellent . Beautifully written and reported ! People are so tired of lie after lie that slides off his tongue so naturally that many have turned him off and tuned him out . Since he doesn’t know or listen to what the people want he just plows forward until a brave court stops him . Yet still he plows ahead ….

Louise Purfield-Coak's avatar

Worm Tongue from Lord of the Rings! His illusions no longer mesmerize. Pathetic!

After the reflecting pool was painted and sealed, but before it was refilled with water, Trump insisted that his heavy motorcade vehicle was driven through the reflecting pool costing taxpayers millions of dollars?

Are you thinking that the damage caused by a heavy motorcade could have led to paint peeling and algae buildup? Sounds plausible since Trump is certain the issue in the pool is solely due to vandalism.

Louise Purfield-Coak's avatar

I heard that they refilled the pool pumped in from the Potomac. Highlights the total incompetence of this Regime. Everywhere I go, I am hearing people talk about this, and they aren't talking about ANTIFA either much to the chagrin of Trump.

I hope George Conway gets elected to Congress before the midterms. He will vote to Impeach Trump. Then we’ll see who we need to remove from Congress!!!!

Tim_TEC's avatar

Conway lost the primary yesterday. He came in fourth in single digits with a little over 6,000 votes. Not even close to winning, and the one thing we missed out with his loss is his determination to make Trump pay for his corruption. Lets hope Micah C. Lasher

is as fervent a Trump opponent as Conway.

Hold the phone just a minute. Those housing bill margins are VETO PROOF.

I haven’t see any mention of that in these comments, nor did Adam mention it.

These housing bill numbers matter. Bigly! Putting a chain link fence around the reflecting pool? Not worth a nanosecond of anyone’s attention.

Don’t let yourselves be distracted, folks, by the nonsense and outrage. Be aware of what really matters. Eyes on the prize…

Carol's avatar

Omg, You are correct. President has ten days to veto it or sign it. If he just ignores it and does not do either, IT PASSES. He is not permitted to just think it doesn’t stand by ignoring and not signing. He has ten days not including Sundays to sign or return. If he does not, the bill automatically becomes law.

Somebody in Congress must know this. Come on.

Louise Purfield-Coak's avatar

First, he can't remember much with his form of dementia. Second, Didn't Congress just go home so that they wouldn't be in session to push the SAVE Act through before the10 days are up!

Carol's avatar

He tries to get around it with just not signing it. Don’t think he formally vetoed it. But this is a point to emphasize on the news. Really show how underhanded he is.

But does Trump have the Constitutional authority to end run the legislative branch? he has to veto it or sign it. Not just respond and dictate what he wants them to pass.

Carol's avatar

You’re on to something, I am not sure he can end run Congress’s power to legislate. They passed something and his option is to veto it or pass it.

Louise Purfield-Coak's avatar

I hate to butt in here, but SCOTUS just expanded the executive power by letting Immigration Executive Orders override Congressional laws! That happened today! They need to be removed too, as they are in League with the theory of the Unitary Executive! Emperor in other words. Traitors to the Constitution!

but don't tell anyone!

Even though it occurred last week (which seems like last year for this scandal ridden gang of grifters) let's not forget that trump pulled his nomination for DNI so that the marvelously qualified mortgage guy and revenge specialist Bill Pulte could run the Intelligence Community. And he said he would not sign any extension of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which expired earlier this month, (assuming one passes) until he got his voter suppression bill. A stand-up President standing up for America he is not.

Lucille Sanchez-corea's avatar

Thanks Adam.

I’m really worried about this cornered rat. Will he continue to make orders to keep himself safe from accountability?

How far will he go? How far will his base go with him?

Sally S's avatar

Rump is the one issued the company for the reflecting pool, no bid! Spoiled he doesn’t get his way so he’ll just refuse to help the American people. Something is fishy about this! 🤔

Elizjteacher's avatar

Do you get a look at the “pool guy”? He looks like a mob guy… especially the pic of him dressed like a goon with a huge stogey hanging from his mouth.

Sally S's avatar

Notice the name of the company hasn’t been revealed?!!

Elizjteacher's avatar

It’s “Greenwater” something…
