Does Trump have to register as a sex offender now?

Doris's avatar

Doubtful. It was a civil action, with a lower standard for the burden of proof. Sex offender registration is under the criminal statute, for which he has yet to be charged.

Pam Birkenfeld's avatar

If the Epstein case gets any traction in public, and someone’s able to bring him into criminal justice, that would be the ultimate good outcome.

I HOPE SO THE SON OF A is A PEDOPHILE ON TOP OF THAT

Mary Jo Doig's avatar

What's the probability??

Ryan's avatar

Nah, not yet. Like Doris sexual offender under criminal status, Mr. Trump could be charged. It depends on criminal status. It can charge or can’t share.

The Supreme court is playing us. They vote no on cases and then give Rump full power.

Let be sure we vote every republican out and make America represent the majority of the people from now on. The Democrats need to lead with positive changes we all want..

Diane1's avatar

I am very concerned about their ruling on expanding executive powers- that's a big win for trump- will allow him to control the media- with control over the FCC

John W.'s avatar

The Epstein files will taker care of that one.

When, when the Regime follows the recent court hearing - I'm not holding my breath.

I am heartbroken over the CONSTANT verbal abuse—are we not better than this? It’s NOT about Democrat or Republican—it’s about CHARACTER and I am angry my grandchildren are being raised in this rhetoric swamp—can we please set a better example! Please! “Libtard” spoken by Duffy in front of his children and our children is a moral failure! Has anyone held him responsible!? Is anyone holding him responsible? Thanks Adam! You are a voice of reason and responsibility and respect! You raise the standard!

Joan Fregapane's avatar

I intend to send him a ‘strongly worded letter’ because it’s almost all I can do…other than vote for every democrat and publicize the ugliness and corruption of this current regime.

Patricia Biswanger's avatar

This libtard will do anything she can to get these monsters out of office; I have the same concerns about my grandchildren.

Diane1's avatar

I am afraid it's the trump effect. when a leader does it it sets the example for the rest of the people. it's up to society to shun that behavior and vote those people out. former Judge Luddick calls it - the Moral Inversion- wrong is right/ unethical is ethical etc.

Mloowho's avatar

And these are the people who claim to be Christian. It’s abhorrent

Patricia, we agree, we get it. I too feel strongly X 3. 👍👍🤣🤣❤️

Thanks Adam - Really appreciate the updates. It's so sad that what could have been a memorable celebration that our children and grandchildren could have had great memories of all their lives (like the ones I had of 1976), will pretty much go unnoticed because of an idiot in the White House.

Ellen Snyder's avatar

we really did have many things to celebrate our 250 years as a free nation. But we will just skip over the embarrassing time that he will be in office and we will have to celebrate 252 years with a wonderful real celebration..in 2028

Minnie's avatar

We surely won't be celebrating. I don't even remember 1976. I'd just graduated from H.S. and god knows what I did that summer, trying to find a job in a small town in N VT

Support the America 250 events that Congress set up.

Adam - isn’t the Supreme Court decision to allow Trump to fire the heads of government agencies potentially the biggest ruling of the day? This has huge ramifications for so many things that impact all Americans. To me this is one of their most horrific rulings. I read Kagan was super emotional while Sotomayor read her dissent. Maybe you can cover this in a separate post? Thank you for all you do! I just feel we need to get the word out more about how corrupt this court is. One other thing, isn’t this court taking on outlandish cases that no other administration would have ever brought - such as the birthright citizenship case - just so they can claim they aren’t partisan? They can then say they don’t always reward Trump. I believe that is why they take up these outlandish cases that are blatantly unconstitutional.

Jude's avatar

It is definitely a big ruling. But so is the one to allow a grace period for mail-in ballots. If such a grace period is legal, then surely the many state that allow mail-in ballots are on better footing in the face of Trump's various attempts to disallow voting by mail, seems to me.

Paul Schlotthauer's avatar

If Kagan did get emotional you can bet the Republicans are laughing at her the way they laughed--and still laugh--at Adam when he choked up addressing the Capitol police during the January 6 hearings.

John Crowe's avatar

One thing you didn't mention, Adam-- the ruling on whether the moron can dismiss members of independent agencies. The Supremes have just made them no longer independent, moving us inexorably towards having a dictator with more power than the Congress and Supremes.

Faith Johnston's avatar

If I understood correctly this ruling allows him to fire without cause just about anyone he chooses but the Federal Reserve is exempt

The last clip: "The weather is not the best today. People are still coming out". They are in front of an empty lawn. LMAO. They're telling you to not believe own your eyes, ears, and wallets.

Pam Birkenfeld's avatar

Yeah, one of my favorite things, “who are you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?”

Linda's avatar

Why in the world would anyone travel all the way to D.C. to see a second rate display for the 250th anniversary of the USA? The only thing that will be worth seeing is the fireworks display on the 4th.

Pam Birkenfeld's avatar

We have a great fireworks display in Boston with the Boston Pops playing music!

Nadine Roddy's avatar

Yes, I'd gladly travel to Boston for the 4th and forget D.C.!

Pam Birkenfeld's avatar

Come on over! The Scottish people had a blast here in Boston during the World Cup. And we love them too. So you’ll get double credit if you wear a kilt,

Cindy Marshall's avatar

Sounds awesome, Pam! Enjoy it!

For that swell cactus 🌵 pen 🖊️ 😂😂😂 sorry I couldn’t help myself. I just watched a video that said Arizona had about the best one with their star exhibit and they were giving away free cactus pens.

This is one of those days when the Serenity Prayer comes in handy 😕.

Ellen Snyder's avatar

oh no.. we will change these things..it will just take time...

Minnie's avatar

It could take well beyond when we've "left the land of the living" - we're both 70.

Ellen Snyder's avatar

thats ok Minnie..I'm 75 and if it takes more years than Ive got left at least our country will be restored to it's glory!

Minnie's avatar

Ellen - It'll take more than one presidential election cycle, I believe even Heather Cox Richardson and others have said so. We definitely have lots and lots of work to do to restore what this Regime and the SCOTUS6 have done and will continue to do until 2028. Leave is pray, that the midterms this fall give us some leverage. I see between those winning and being seated, Felon4547 will reign down more wrath. Thank god for Marc Elias and Democracy Docket for fighting tooth and nail all across the country, for all of us. Even MAGAmericans benefit, whether they understand that or not.

It made me sick to my stomach when I read about Pete Buttigieg's family. No surprise, though---they separated kids and babies from their parents during the Trump 1 regime, and some never did get reunited. And it's still going on now with immigrants, although ICE is quieter and trying to do this without attention.

Aletha Evert's avatar

It seems obvious to me that mail-in ballots should be accepted based on their postmark... just like tax returns. if a mailed-in tax return is postmarked April 15, it is on time.

Ellen Snyder's avatar

OK, I saw the faces of the chinese representatives listening to lutnick..oh boy do they have him pegged! another embarrassment ...and the joke of a HUGE celebration for trump..I saw 5 people. LOL

Dakota's avatar

Using the word “communist” trump is laying the groundwork for his upcoming propaganda machine ahead of the elections. He will blend socialism and communism into one word in the minds of his followers.

Jude's avatar

and all Democrats = communists

Dakota's avatar

Exactly. Democrats better come up with a way to counter attack the word because communism is such a bad word that it whitewashes even his regime.

Markopolis Balhaus's avatar

Well if they do not want "communism" to spread, maybe they should not do stuff like this. Communist? oh brother.

HKfromMI's avatar

If only there was a way to win an election without preventing people from voting… I can’t think of a way… /s

Minnie's avatar

Has MTG ever apologized to Pete Buttigieg and his husband?

Can they find the anonymous caller? If so, can they charge the individual(s) with wire fraud, filing a false (and dangerous mind you) report - actually swatting!
