It is a crime what they are doing to Big Bend. It is a beautiful park that I hope when this POS president is gone, we can begin to repair the damage to the park. Environmental damage takes years to recover from. What a POS.

Nikki M.'s avatar

Not to mention all the money that was appropriated to individual National Parks that has now been taken to fund his DC pet projects so he doesn't have to go to Congress. Its infuriating.

Cats πŸˆπŸˆβ€β¬›'s avatar

Agreed. His pet projects…stealing money from the NPS. He is a putz.

What they’re doing to Big Bend is a travesty. Seeing the video footage was gut wrenching. Knowing the actual geographic features of the area makes it worse and defies logic, apart from the cronyist angle. It has long been acknowledged as a natural boundary.

There have been so many places with this insipid β€œwall” that have had incalculable impacts on wildlife which would otherwise be naturally crossing the arbitrarily drawn international borders. It’s so shameful

ok Adam you made me cry 😒 about President Biden my prayers are with him and his family. then omg Trumps hair I went from bawling to laughing w that one!!! so thank you for that and as always for your hard work!! πŸ’™

Ellen Snyder's avatar

and i was also crying for the bulldozing of another beautiful area that he has ruined with his fears

ShayMichele's avatar

Yes I was crying about that too it's awful! πŸ˜₯

rvandine856's avatar

Me too …burst into tears.

Markopolis Balhaus's avatar

Me too. What a great president Adam would make. I want that so much sometimes, I can't stand it.

Cindy La Ferle's avatar

Agreed! If he does run, we promise to get out there and campaign our butts off for him!

Jerry Hawthorne's avatar

I can't imagine FOX allowing Trump's Biden comment on the air. I would think that even FOX would have a modicum of decency.

Ed's avatar

I think that you were wrong. Fox has NO decency, much like the president.

Jerry Hawthorne's avatar

You are correct if you're talking about their Prime Time people.

RB Mc's avatar

And that is ONE thing that this sorry excuse for a human being cannot tolerate: Laughter directed at HIM!. We need more. Thanks, Adam!

Michelle Ponkutcat 060's avatar

My reaction as well. Thank you Adam.

Orange Pedo Protector you are a scumbag of the first degree!!!!!! I only hope you get a slow, painful disease that lingers long so we can all watch your decline. Epstein Epstein Epstein

Thank you for pointing out the fact that Trump enjoys being cruel. No politician on the Democratic pounds that message in and it should be pasted to all his supporters and politicians who he endorses.

Ellen Snyder's avatar

but the people who vote for them don't care. Their hate is so deep

Jude's avatar

It's really disturbing -- the idea that so (actually, apparently, so *many*) people enjoy the fact that immigrants and others are suffering.... What's that say about human beings?

Ellen Snyder's avatar

it tells us that they are so accepting of people suffering. Most real americans know how this country was founded and because of our actual knowledge..we will not let them ever win again to perpetuate this hate..

Chuck's avatar

Plus, I think many in the US have a religion (the three major monotheistic religions ALL share the Book of Ruth and have values to be kind to the stranger, for you were once a stranger), and ALL Americans have the same "employee handbook" that starts off with the mission statement that we, the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility.......

Ellen Snyder's avatar

I know Chuck..My belief in a higher power is private to me. I have a conscience and I feel that ive done something wrong as soon as Ive done it..it's not a happy feeling and i even hesitate to wish harm to the yam even though he goes against any of my beliefs. I won't, however lose sleep in case any of those bullets happen to hit the target next time.

Linda Lee Williams's avatar

Their racism, you mean...πŸ˜•

Markopolis Balhaus's avatar

That's right Teena. For sure.

Alida Lorio's avatar

Thank you so much for including the desecration of Big Bend National Park in your news. Those of us who live here are experiencing this heartbreak every day. And you are so correct that it will take so much longer to recover the lost environment .... We need all the voices we can get to stop this criminality before it can proceed too much more.

Nikki M.'s avatar

I'm so sorry that is happening to your backyard National Park. Heartbroken in WA State.

Chuck's avatar

Same here: I helped conquer my fear of heights by sitting on a cliff there in Big Bend and dangling my feet over the edge of a straight vertical cliff (I think it was called Epson Peak, but it was a LONG time ago when I was a teen). I can't imagine bulldozing through Cascades or Hoh because someone somewhere thought a person might maybe possibly somehow be using it to cross into the USA...

Nikki M.'s avatar

What a great memory to have. I love that!. I bet this particular destruction has zero to do with border crossings there. Follow the money..... For a country that adores our National Parks, I'm surprised to not see more outrage.

Chuck's avatar

The prevailing theory is that --despite the numerous natural barriers like cliffs and rivers-- the wall is being built there is because contracts were issued to cronies. What used to be called "pork projects" back in the day: federal tax dollars wasted locally to enrich donors' companies in the district for the political gain of boyars (hey, just calling communist-style corruption where I see it).

Nikki M.'s avatar

That theory makes total sense given all I've read about the natural barriers and actual border crossing attempts. The destruction of beauty, historical and cultural significance is deeply troubling.

From Meidas+:

… High Country News: β€œBarnard Construction, an engineering contractor based in Bozeman, MT, recently celebrated its 50th year in business. On its website, the company lays out a colorful history that starts in 1975, when Tim Barnard moved to MT with β€˜$1,000, two shovels, a pick, and all of his possessions in the cab of his pickup.’”

… β€œWhat the website doesn’t show are the company’s largest federal contracts: the billions of taxpayer dollars Barnard has been awarded to build Trump’s border wall. Also unmentioned are its founder’s financial ties to the president. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act allocated $46.5 billion for the wall project. The admin has since waived dozens of fed contracting laws to expedite construction, and more than $28 billion in contracts have been awarded to a small group of companies.”

… β€œBarnard is among the biggest winners. The company and its affiliates have been awarded more than $5.6 billion in border construction contracts since Trump returned to office. Add their previous border wall contracts and the total rises to more than $7 billion. Meanwhile, FEC records show that Barnard and his wife have contributed millions of dollars over the years to Republican candidates and causes - including more than $1 million to Trump’s presidential campaigns.”

Soooo...yeahhhhh. Your tax dollars at "work." SEVEN BILLION. That's a LOT of graft!

Probably Emory Peak - Highest point in the Chisos Mountains Basin. Lucky you!!

Chuck's avatar

It WAS very high up...and VERY terrifying...but we must face our fears if we are to master them.

Thank you for the clarification! I still feel a little heart jump when I remember that, even ALL these years later (amazing how our limbic system works...). And I still have what I call "a healthy respect for heights" despite it all.

ANNA JOHNSON's avatar

I feel that Joe Biden accomplished more than any President since LBJ. He made some mistakes but he was still amazing!!!

Jude's avatar

He was indeed a very good president. But his decision to renege on his promise to be a one-term president rather than allowing other candidates to run and debate was a horrific disaster, leading to the mess we're in now.

With the exception of Joe Biden, this day's news had me laughing. Love the digs at Trump 🀣🀣🀣

The attack on Big Bend is awful and being done for no reason that makes any sense at all. Destruction of our National Parks, DC, and the WH are beyond comprehension. They serve no purpose other than to make the American people furious. But, of course, what do you expect from this horrid little orange fluffy haired menace?

As for President Biden, keeping him and his family in thoughts and prayers. The dumpy president was cruel in his remarks. He has no decency.

Dave Amaditz's avatar

Terrible what is happening to Big Bend national Park. This isn’t the only Park or monument that Administration is ruining. Teddy Roosevelt must be rolling in his grave.

Michael Otter's avatar

Trump is real good at demolition, witness what he’s done to the White House. I guess he decided he’d take a shot at making a mess of a national park now. Another worthless monument to the most worthless President. When will it stop?

Chuck's avatar

2029...or if you believe Revelations 13, for 42 months (so 6 months short of his entire 2nd term) 😁

I'm not saying he is the Antichrist, but he *DID* get a fatal head wound that miraculously healed, and he DOES have an image that can speak and blaspheme and cause those who do not worship the beast to be killed (his ironically-named social media "Truth" platform), and his worshippers DO wear a mark on their foreheads (MAGA red hats) in order to engage in commerce...maybe just all coincidences, tho...

Liz R's avatar

Yeah, he’s a great builder. The best builder that ever was, in fact, in his head. To the rest of us, he’s a dangerous moron.

Bibi is up for reelection. To remain as PM, he has to pander to the far far-right gang. Israelis, who live abroad, are flying to Israel just to vote against Bibi and party. We'll see how this plays out.

Liz R's avatar

I hope he’s voted out.

Michael's avatar

I think he should be voted out but I also don't think Adam understands Israeli politics very well. There are other reasons not to leave Gaza such as Hamas is never going to actually disarm. Who is going to disarm them?

Ken Martin's avatar

I think we need to see the whole picture. Show the new hair style and the oversized Florsheim shoes

Ellen Snyder's avatar

his new hairstylist was ordered to make it look more full and blew the shit out of it!! it has so much product in it itll never move again

AnaR737's avatar

Hair Force 1 is a perfect mode of locomotion for the President of Trumpistan. Next up we will see cabinet secretaries in their own orange bouffants and their overly big Florsheim shoes stepping into Hair Force 1 on their way to somewhere like Islamabad to sign our surrender to Iran. And they are going to call it a β€˜win’.

Markopolis Balhaus's avatar

IKR? OMG. What a day. And remember it's only Monday. They just irk me to no end.

Ballard Graham's avatar

Adam, when his Trump’s day come to depart this earth, we all need to remember his cruelty!

Liz R's avatar

I agree we must never forget the damage the toddler-in-chief has caused, but we are better than he is and will not celebrate anyone’s death.

Christine Heinrichs's avatar

Thanks for the updates, Adam. I missed the Big Bend destruction. Terrible. Who will stop these people? Another that toubled me was Katie Couric's report about militay commanders in the Iran War promoting Armageddon. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1597074724669933

Liz R's avatar

Whoever is promoting Armageddon needs to watch some of the apocalyptic movies: Dr. Strangelove; On the Beach, to start. NO ONE IS LEFT. Except cockroaches.

Jude's avatar

Oh, man..... Ach those idiots! Thank you very much for the KC link. ...sigh....
