So beautifully written and the stunning photos! I was teary-eyed reading this, Adam. I am inspired and moved by your wealth of experience, integrity and the ability to effectively communicate that to others.
I think everyone should make it to Alaska, at least once in their lives, if they possibly can. I made it to Sitka...what a beautiful, magical place. Always wanted to go back one day to see other parts of the barely tamed wilderness...hopefully one day....
I stated this to my brother last weekend..."No one in America should have to be afraid of any elected official especially a president, or their followers...and I CAN'T BELIEVE, in AMERICA, I HAVE to sign this ANONYMOUSLY!but you know, no, I will sign it: Kenneth Scott Taylor
Bravo! Yes, youβre correct. Thankfully here youβre generally among a friendly crowd, and Your names are very common, giving you some degree of cover if needed.
β you also have the courage of conviction, which I imagine is largely driven by frustration/ anger regarding the current U.S. adminβs actions/ attitude.
The Bible says that in the final days of this system of things (human rulership vs divine) that βbecause of increasing lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool offβ π β so here we are, hatred & fear abounding. Matt. 24:12. Things get worse before they get better, in that account.
Stay strong. PS I also use my real name here, but there are a few with similar names in the U.S. & world.
I think that's what she was saying. That he didn't use his name for his own privacy protection because ya never know who could end up seeing it & targeting that person.
We need to take an example from Adam here, he speaks his mind openly, and freely, damn the cost. This is the hard part of standing up and standing your ground. It is hard, and I have my fears, but the worst thing we can do at this moment is nothing.
This was so beautiful I cried from the first picture to the ending video. Reminds me of both my home state of CO and adopted state of WA. I love this country, even if it doesn't love me back right now. Adam, thank you. I really needed this after another tough week as a federal employee. I'm not going anywhere!! They can fire me but I will continue to fight for what is right and preserve all that makes America my home.
Adam, this is one of the most beautiful things I have read. There is something about nature that makes us whole. It gives us peace of mind, of heart, of soul. Thank you πβ€οΈπ
Yes, to working for things lasting, like integrity, community kindness, willingness to strive to make us a better nation, better people. Thank you for such an inspirational post, Adam!!
I love Alaska. I lived in Petersburg on Kupreanof one summer while doing an internship with the Forest Service. It rained all the time, or at least it seemed like it to me, but with rain gear I was outside all the time. Pure heaven. There's nothing like that fragrant air.
Very cool! I had the chance to be stationed in Alaska when I left Colorado, but I passed for Hawaii. I hope Trump & MAGA don't destroy beautiful places like this because they see them as money-making opportunities and are too stupid to understand that by destroying the land and wildlife, they are also destroying us. I despise him more every day, if that's possible.
Me, too, Jean. I keep thinking I've hit my limit but then he opens his mouth and my loathing-meter is surging upwards again. Just seeing his orange face does it, too! Ugh.
My silly perspective: I noticed that the number of 'likes' was at 45. The numbers 45 and 47 are unacceptable to me. I do like your comment, but I am pleased to increase it's 'likes' to 46. Let's make sure that it doesn't stop at 47 but passes by to a better number!
Thank you. I think we all realize you speak out at risk of significant personal danger. We will all continue to speak out in memory of all those who have sacrificed on behalf or our imperfect nation. When my nieces and nephews say they don't see the importance of voting, are overwhelmed by the noise of politics, I try to remind them that this all started with some local militia group fighting skirmishes during the Revolutionary War. That means some kid took a musket shot to the belly and died a harsh death - for us. We are required to honor that sacrifice and the continued sacrifices through the many battles we have faced as we work toward a better America.
Eight militiamen died (John Brown, Samuel Hadley, Caleb Harrington, Jonathon Harrington, Robert Munroe, Isaac Muzzey, Asahel Porter, Jonas Parker (Captain Parker's cousin) and Jonathon Harrington) and 10 were wounded at the Battle of Lexington on April 19, 1775, and 79 had been killed by the end of the first skirmishes. From the 77 patriots who faced off against the British, the number of Americans who ended up fighting at Lexington and Concord rose to 3,960 in a matter of hours. The American Spirit, right there.
You remind me of my Dad who loved flying, whether on a mission, or viewing the sacredness of nature from a Cessna. It was his way to worship and marvel at it all. Flying, if we immerse ourselves in the moment, is humbling and brings perspective. Thank you for the reminder....Dad is up there smiling, too ,and cheering us on toward freedom.
Thanks Adam for a pictorial and verbal view of Alaska that I will never see!! What a great message about appreciating the rare beauty of our country and why it is worth protecting!
47 and his ilk only care only about what they can take for instant profit and not caring what happens to the pristine land and those who love it.
It was poetic how you wove your Faith in while flying a mission for your Country!
Thank you for your bravery in speaking out and continuing to fight for all of us!πΊπΈππ»
Thank you for these gorgeous images and for your own eloquence, urging us to keep things in perspective and not to forget the enduring truths, chaotic though the world might be β truths that the chaos itself affirms by making clear our need for them. So hereβs to beauty, honesty, fidelity, and democracy β and pity those whose cynicism has given up on them!
Beautiful scenery and words Adam. I love moments like that in life. A perspective can be healing too. Thanks for sharing, and thank you for speaking out.
So beautifully written and the stunning photos! I was teary-eyed reading this, Adam. I am inspired and moved by your wealth of experience, integrity and the ability to effectively communicate that to others.
Being a citizen and veteran I loved that. I have flown over Alaska and it is majestic!!!
I think everyone should make it to Alaska, at least once in their lives, if they possibly can. I made it to Sitka...what a beautiful, magical place. Always wanted to go back one day to see other parts of the barely tamed wilderness...hopefully one day....
Me too.
Beautiful response and I wholeheartedly agree! I had tears reading both of you!
Adam inspires us all!
But you forgot to name your friend!
Unfortunately, in this day & age you donβt name names even of the innocent, for fear of unwarranted negative attention β¦

The friend with him in the first photo

Grace, thank you for your service as a federal employee.

and of course for all the Veterans who defend our country. Thanks for the inspiring message we all
need it for sure. Beautiful pictures and videos.
Itβs why itβs still my adored home, red though it may be.

Where do you live in Alaska, Sandy? :)
Hopefully. We were blue before oil was discovered!
I wish it was surprising.

Beautiful thoughts on the beauty of Alaska and what most Americans hold dear. Thank you for your service Adam, both then and now.
So cool! Another great message Adam! Thanks for sharing the pictures and video.

Thank you Adam for this. Brings clarity to our mission.
Thatβs an incredible runway right off the water!
